Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD (Oct 1998 – Mar 2001)

Lead Test Engineer, Aircraft Environmental Hazards Laboratory (Sep 1999 – Mar 2001):

• Managed team of two engineers and three technicians in testing and evaluation of Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) engine outwash and inlet flow using the Pratt & Whitney F-119 engine in vertical takeoff mode. Delivered results 2 weeks ahead of schedule, reducing cost by $140,000.

• Designed and installed hover-pit instrumentation and data acquisition system to evaluate downwash/outwash airflow of Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft; completed AV-8B Harrier and Joint Strike Fighter measurements.

• Designed and integrated new data acquisition system in Naval Air Systems Command Windblast Test Facility used to test post-ejection survivability of aircrew and ejection seat equipment. New system automatically reduced data and expedited time required to release results. Afterward, directed operations of the redesigned facility.

Fleet Liaison, Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) (Feb 1999 – Sep 1999):

• Provided end-user input to the JHMCS Development Test & Evaluation Phase.

• Authored, executed, and delivered test plans to sled-test equipment survivability during ejection sequence.

• Released results 4 months ahead of schedule.

• Reduced test backlog by 67%.

Deputy Executive Director for Operations (Oct 1998 – Jan 1999):

• Managed military manpower for the NAVAIRSYSCOM Research and Engineering Department.

• Revamped outdated manpower tracking system, corrected hundreds of conflicting and erroneous entries. Established a new robust data base and comprehensive turn-over file.
