COURSEWORK:

Relevant Courses: Advance Digital Design, Advance Hardware Design, Advance Computer Architecture, Advance Microprocessor Systems, Advance Wireless Systems, Stochastic Process and Principles of Internetworking.

RELEVANT PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

• FPGA Programming and ModelSim simulation in Advanced Hardware Design Course: (Spring 2011)

o Developed a Verilog HDL, RTL to control on-board LCD module of ALTERA DE2 Board

o Developed a Keypad module to enter key values from a remote keypad onto DE2 board using Ethernet module provided

o Simulated each sub-module in ModelSim Simulator for timing analysis, debugging and verification

• Special Project using ARM7 Processor from Samsung using CodeWarrior IDE for ARM v1.2: (Spring 2011)

o Created and tested learning modules of ARM 7 (Samsung S3C45010X chip) on Evaluator 7T kits.

o Setup experiments on ARM7 namely ‘Seven segment display and switch reading’, ‘User interrupt control’ and ‘Timer and Counter’

o Used ‘ARM Instruction Set’ and ‘Thumb Instruction Set’ to conduct hands-on Lab for students on above topics

• FPGA Programming using SILOS/ModelSim in Advanced Digital Design Course: (Fall 2010)

o Developed a Verilog HDL, RTL ‘Pattern Detector’ with Keypad Interface, Timers & 7 Segment Display

o ALTERA Cyclone II FPGA is used and programming is done on FPGA using Quartus II programmer

o Simulation of each sub-module is being done in SILOS Simulator for timing analysis, debugging and verification

• Speech Synthesizer using MATLAB: (Fall 2009)

o Designed an algorithm for Linear Predictive Coding (LPC) to build a filter generating power spectrums

o Used Signal Processing Toolbox in MATLAB to produce ‘vowels’ similar to human vocal tract

o Passed White Gaussian Noise through the filter to get better results and generated the power spectrum

• Senior Project on Microcontroller: (May 2009)

o Designed a microcontroller (89C51) and deployed sensors to monitor high water logging regions

o Used Visual Basic to generate a graphical interface on PC using the data from 89C51 through a RS232 cable

o Performed control of the motor using another 89C51 to remove the water from the flooded regions

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

College of Technology, University of Houston, Texas, USA

Graduate Instructional Assistant (Fall 2010–Spring 2011)

• Research Assistant: As a member of the Wireless Amigos Research Group, worked on a topic ‘Multi-Rate Region Maximization for Interference Channel’, deriving new bounds for the interference channel

• ‘Embedded Systems’: Use Microcontroller 8051 and Micro IDE from BIPOM. Conduct hands-on Lab for students, on microcontroller 8051 Timers, Counters, Interrupts, subroutines, delays, etc. Programming was done in Microcontroller C

• ‘AC circuits’: Instructor for hands-on Lab of Electric Circuits, implementing Pulse Width Modulator, Signal Generator using Op-Amp and Function Generator IC 8038. Debug the circuits made by students during Labs

•‘Inter-Networking’: Set up hands-on lab for graduate and undergraduate students using Wireshark. Undertook packet tracing and set up experiments on monitoring TCP/IP packets in a network, setting up Networks and CISCO router.

ORGANIZATIONS:

• Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE), Mumbai, India
