Personal Statement:

I have been previously stationed with the Air Force and Army in Qatar, Kuwait, and Iraq, and worked with the AFOSI (Air Force of Special Investigations) as well as the CIA and interrogations for the POWs.

While overseas, I lived on the Air Force base in Qatar and Kuwait in Arif-John and the Doha base. In addition, I had the privilege of working with high ranking officers such as generals, majors, and lieutenant colonials. While working with these men, my duty consisted of acting as the main Arabic interpreter and translator in order to help conduct foreign conference meetings, interrogations with POWs, and translations to my head officer about the news appearing on the Arabic informant channel known as Al-Gazira. Not only did I serve with higher officials, but I also interpreted for the troops whenever needed during travel to new buildings, cities, crowded areas with Iraqi citizens, and more.

Personally, my favorite part of the whole experience when working with the troops and Air Force focused on the occurrences involving my assistance to interpret and interrogate the POWs with the CIA and FBI agents. Given that this became my preferred use as the linguist, my skills in this area tremendously increased and I was advised to return to Seattle, Washington and apply as a direct Arabic interpreter for the FBI. Ever since I’ve arrived back to Seattle, my ultimate goal and dream has specifically been to become a certified Arabic interpreter for the FBI because I love my job as a linguist and especially the challenge and learning experience that comes with it when working for the government. I truly believe that when people love the job they do that is when they become the best at it, and I am definitely one of those people who is devote to keeping the profession I love and progressing with it to make it my main career.

The first time I traveled to Kuwait and Iraq was with the Army, the second time was with the Air Force, which included me going to Qatar as well, and now I am fully ready to return to the work I find so much joy and pride in doing. Not only do I find myself as being lucky when employed by a linguist branch in the government, but sincerely blessed as well.
