Qualification Summary: In-depth computer systems experience in a wide range of hardware and software areas. Recent Experience

• Organized and currently manage DMS Computer Consulting Inc. to provide computer consulting to multiple clients. I provide UNIX/HP/AIX/AS400/Windows server system administration, relational database administration, project management as well as custom programming in a variety of languages from Visual Studio VB to ‘C’ including Database programming and SQL.

• Created a custom MS Access package to provide purchase in-bounds for grain buying. The application uses a system of scales for dock-age factors to determine the correct weight and cost of grain. After input a payable document is printed to invoice for proper payment from merchants and make payments to vendors.

• Lead software engineer for an ERP system on IBM/AIX utilizing an Informix database with code in Informix 4GL and C. Wrote a complex EDI data transaction loader to the ERP system to enable automatic entry of orders.

• Provide Windows server support to help maintain the client’s multiple business critical intranet applications. Administer MS IIS version 6&7 Web Server to enable MS Visual Studio 2008 and 2010 support.

• Maintain a legacy RPG4 system on an AS400 including ODBC DB2 database access to MS Access and Visual Basic and several intranet applications.

• Assisted a client with virtual servers using Hyper-V on Windows Server Enterprise 2008 to create virtual instances of MS operating systems including Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

• Project lead on a recipe delivery system for Brown and Williamson Tobacco written on HP/UX using shared memory sockets to securely transfer data to the control rooms.

• Implemented remote handheld scanners to better track recipe ingredients. Wrote custom core code and subroutines to improve performance.

• Provided UNIX systems, relational database, and project management expertise in a client/server environment using HP servers and EMC storage, to a manufacturer that is third in the nation in their market.

• Participated in successfully re-engineering a 2.2 billion dollar buildings and fleet organization within a Fortune 500 company, from 14 divisional areas into 4 regional centers and finally into on Super Center, reducing administrative costs and improving business tracking. Coordinated with systems provider to change software/hardware level of performance, at an accelerated pace, to achieve a $900,000 annual savings.

• Converted a legacy mainframe application to UNIX/RDB/SERVER environment internally and then successfully marketed the product commercially for a Fortune 500 Company.

1998-Present President and Senior Consultant, DMS Computer Consulting Inc.: Provide computer consulting services to multiple clients. From small through midsize business up to corporate clients, we provide Unix/Linux/AIX/AS400/Windows systems support and programming expertise with complete project management.

1993-1998 Senior Consultant, Brown and Williamson Tobacco Corporation: Provided UNIX system administration, relational database administrative and programming, and project management expertise to the information technology department. Performed database enhancements, created new interfaces, completed upgrades and developed specific manufacturing applications. Specialized in INFORMIX’s SQL, ESQL, and 4GL products along with X Windows, and ‘C’ coding in an HP environment. Developed client-server recipe information distribution system between HP servers and workstations. Integrated X Windows into 4GL applications to allow object based selection of INFORMIX data.

1990-1993 Area Systems Administrator, GTE Telephone Operations: Responsible for the management of UNIX/INFORMIX shop with IT staff. Manager and technical analyst for the management staff. Directly supervised analysts, data entry personal, contractors and secretarial staff. Indirectly responsible for 52 people at 15 remote data sites that utilized corporate data.

1989-1990 National Systems Administrator, GTE Supply: Coordinated a national vehicle and machinery fleet management system between the end customer and the production team. Provided technical support to local area systems groups though-out the United States for the product including UNIX administration, and management of INFORMIX relational databases. Provided oversight and reported directly to executive management for the first national statistical roll up reports from remote sites.

1985-1989 Programmer through Senior Systems Analyst, GTE Data Services: Responsibilities ranged from programming FORTRAN on a Honeywell mainframe, to VAX mainframe to ‘C’ coding on mid-range UNIX systems utilizing an INFORMIX relational database. Performed customer database setup and onsite installation of commercial products. Maintained and enhanced programming code as directed.
