WORK EXPERIENCE

HAVI GLOBAL SOLUTIONS, Downers Grove IL 60515 (McDonalds Corp. Supply Chain Management) Jun 2006 – Present

Senior Forecasting Analyst

• Entirely designed and coded in SAS the process for data mining all marketing activity for McDonalds Japan and forecasting incremental sales. This is currently the standard process used by the forecasting team.

• Designed the infrastructure of the process so that it integrates with the baseline engine.

• Created a code that partitions point-of-sale data by dividing the major food items into the three components (A la carte, Value Meal, and Combos) so as to reduce noise and more accurately observe the effect of promotional activity.

• Conducted statistical analysis in SAS to investigate price elasticity of demand for food items.

• Developed linear and non-linear deterministic ad-hoc forecasting models in SAS, incorporating price-elasticity functions and marketing tactics to forecast future promotional activity for limited-time menu items that are not part of the standards process.

• Developed script referred to as “The Patch” to solve the problem of missing forecasts; the idea won the approval of the vice president and a more comprehensive process based on this idea was designed and implemented in the baseline engine.

• Designed a code that groups historical additional units generated by marketing initiatives according to price, marketing tactic, and duration and simulates “what if” scenarios for future promotional activities.

Market Dynamics, Inc., Wheeling, IL 60090 Jan 2005 – Jun 2006

Statistical Analyst

• Built Time Series models to forecast levels of sales. Used differentiation techniques to detrend data; developed simpler models (eg. Smoothing averages, Winter’s , and Decomposition) for stable data and more complex models (ARIMA) for heavily trended data.

• Identified, transformed, and manipulated data; conducted hypothesis tests and other statistical tests for custom studies. These tests included parametric (eg. ANOVA, MANOVA, T-tests) as well as non-parametric techniques (eg. Kruskal-Wallis, Wilcoxon, Mann-Whitney).

• Audited all internal algorithms and business procedures, and tested accuracy and internal compliance at specified confidence levels.

• Interpreted results of analyses and prepared reports and presentations on the findings.

WORK ACCOMPLISHMENTS

• Personally recognized by the Executive Vice President of McDonalds Japan Supply Chain on October 17, 2007.

• Achieved “Exceed Expectations” at end of year employee evaluation for 2007, 2008, and 2009. Only one other person in the history of our department has been granted this recognition for three years in a row.
