Senior Manager (North American Operations)

Senior manager responsible for Corporate Quality throughout all of the North American operations related to new program launches, warranty analysis programs, supplier quality, TS16949 program (Corporate QMR) and mass production operations for all locations throughout North America.

Highlighted Accomplishments and Responsibilities

Quality Excellence – successfully implemented dramatic quality and manufacturing improvement initiatives that have led to an 80% reduction in scrap, customer PPM (from 15PPM to 2.8PPM) and eliminated “safety related” quality complaints (from 30 issues in 2007 to 0 issues in 2010).

Strategic Leadership– Restructured quality operations throughout the US to maximize efficiency and reduced quality budgets by greater than 23% while leading the very first achievement of the corporate quality and budgetary goals.

Highlighted Accomplishments

Quality Excellence – Improvements yielding an 81% reduction in customer PPM as well as a 40% reduction in the customer complaint index within four months of service.

Leadership- Based on the principles of “TPS” was able to develop a process to establish, review and maintain standardized work process.

Organizational Development- Developed cross training program with a 60% completion for cross training on two or more positions within three months. This included modifications to a new hire orientation program to be focused on standardized work, TPS elements and other quality tools.

New Business- Maintain a new model launch rate sometime as high as five full vehicle model launches simultaneously (over 40 to 50 components at once).

Hitachi Automotive Products, Inc. (Automotive Machining and Assembly) 1995~1997

Quality Product Line Tech./Engineer

Began as a layout tech/engineer, focused on both 2D and 3D (CMM) inspection. (i.e. PPAP approval, inspection system development, validations). Quickly moved up to a Product line Quality specialist in a high volume machine shop with responsibilities to develop raw material suppliers, improve overall Key Performance Indicators and work with cross functional teams to make improvements to overall efficiency. Establish an automatic inspection program to eliminate 60% of the labor required for periodical inspection, electronic collections/analysis of data and dramatically reduces the amount of capital required for new custom built inspection gauges.

Topy Corp. (Automotive Die Cast and Machining) 1989~1995

Quality Tech.

Quality tech for reliability testing, layout inspection and new model development. My primary duties were related to destructive testing, nondestructive testing, product durability testing and 3D product validations. Topy was a rewarding experience for the time spent on improvement programs and learning break through quality improvement tools.
