Alcon is a pharmaceutical company. The company is based in New York City, with its research headquarters in Groton, with operations based around 22 countries Alcon Secondary Sales system has been designed for the secondary sales of the GULF market. The system consists of the distributors and the sales made by the retail vendors. The system is designed to track all the sales made by the distributors. It helps the Business user to analysis distributor’s performance and the market share of their products in each country.

Responsibilities:

Prepared ETL Specification based on the Business Requirements.

Developing jobs and data flows to populate dimensions and fact tables available in the Secondary sales data ware house systems.

Involved in the tuning of the dataflow improve the performance of the loading process.

Designed and Developed validation ETL processes using Data stage 8.0, Oracle and UNIX shell programming for validating the distributor daily sales transaction CSV files.

Developed Sequencers in designer to run and control set of jobs with various UNIX scripts.

Hindustan Unilever Limited is India's largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Company. It is present in Home & Personal Care and Foods & Beverages categories.It was decided to implement a Data Warehouse solution that collects information from the numerous ERP instances and various other transaction applications and provides a single window for information access. The Ascential Data Stage, an ETL Tool (Extraction, Transformation and Loading). This project gives an insight into business trends and makes them better forecasting decisions.

Responsibilities:

Extensively involved in the extraction, transformation and loading of data from various files to Oracle 9i databases.

Exporting Jobs using Data Stage Manager.

Maintained warehouse metadata, naming standards and warehouse standards for future application development and Preparing Unit Test Cases.
