The Gemological Institute of America, or GIA, is a nonprofit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemology and the jewelry arts. The institute does so through research, gem identification and diamond grading services and a variety of educational programs. There are two types of Reports Compliance reports and Non Compliance reports. Reports are automated to run on an established schedule or they may be manually generated using various data filters. Thresholds are set and are configurable through the Threshold Maintenance Screen. Occurrences exceeding thresholds are sent via email alerts to appropriate staff.
