During my time at St. Lukes's Microbiology, I implemented analyzing positive cultures that were flagged as positive cultures during the later shift. I was also instrumental at looking ahead to see if we had possible yeasts we could identify by detecting before the weekly reading. I started on the evening shift, then went to be a Senior Technician in Hematology. I spent a year in Hematology assisting the Lead Tech and performing additional tasks and growing as a professional. I then transferred to Microbiology where I still served as Senior Tech. I made a College of American Pathologist (CAP) notebook for CAP inspectors which denoted examples of quality control, reports, quality action, and reports. Also, I am well-versed in Mycobacteriology, Mycology, and the Maldi-Tof. I specialize in the following equipment: Vitek, Sensitre, Moleculer BCID and Respiratory panel, and the Cepheid Gene Expert.
