Shaw Group - Project Superintendent Power Block

Project Detail: Cliffside Project in Cliffside, NC. $1.29B EPC contract constructing (1) 800 MW supercritical coal-fired electric generating plant with a flue gas desulfurization system.

Responsible for equipment, tools, materials, manpower, cost, boiler & pipe erection sequence, etc.

Developed cost structure for all boiler related pipe and boiler components.

Interfaced with rigging engineer and boiler engineer to develop proper lift procedures and lift plans for boiler pipe and boiler components.

Developed a plan for all work fronts implementing safety into work packages to ensure work was safely performed supporting the zero-accident philosophy.

Provided technical assistance for pipe superintendents for Hitachi boiler piping.

Bechtel Construction - Area Manager Power Block

Project Detail: Trimble County Unit 2 Fossil Project in Bedford, KY. New construction of TC2 unit, 750 MW super-critical pulverized coal fire unit with world class environmental controls.

Evaluate boiler erection sequence and develop boiler erection recovery plan.

Responsible for supervising and directing multi craft superintendents. Schedule the sequence of work for boiler erection recovery plan.

Obtain, review, and follow rigging plans for all lifts.

Plan manpower and equipment required for all activities under my supervision.

Coordinate any safety training required by superintendents and enforce safe work practices.

Ensure performance and unit rates for my areas and/or activities are within project goals.

Project Detail: Elm Road Generation Station Project in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. $2.4B lump sum power plant. Construction project consisting of (2) 1230 MW Supercritical Pulverized Coal Boilers.

Responsible for supervising and directing activities of approx. 100 BM craftsmen. Schedule the sequence of work for crews under my purview.

Plan and coordinate the pre-modification, lifting, erecting, and installation of boiler piping, pressure parts, all hangers, boiler duct work, condensers, and wind boxes. Designed the economizer modulation.

Obtain, review, and follow rigging plans for all lifts.

Complete job hazard analysis for new tasks performed.

Plan required manpower for all activities under my direct supervision.
