Process and Quality Control Manager- Blue Wave and Silver Wave boats Seminole OK

2021 to present

Duties:

Evaluate lamination processes. Initiate best practices and improvements to facilitate product improvement and throughput.

Manage a team of inspectors, create best practice documents, train employees on standard boat building skills, evaluate processes and procedures throughout the plant. Create inspection documents that track the construction process.

Plant Manager- Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats

2017 - 2021

Duties: To oversee production in Lamination, Assembly and all support shops. Products include a 41-foot Ranger Tug, 30 foot Cutwater inboard and a 32 foot Cutwater twin engine outboard.

Additionally, managed support for 3 other manufacturing plants.

Report to VP of Operations

●Identify and eliminate bottlenecks.

●Conduct interviews perform all hiring and firing.

●Improve processes thru design changes or re-assignment of labor.

Plant Manager-Blue Wave Boats. Seminole Oklahoma

March 2016 – August 2017

Duties: To manage and improve processes within the manufacturing framework. Schedule production, coordinate transportation of boats to dealers

●Labor:

oIdentify bottlenecks and apply labor or a process to eliminate.

Overtime has been reduced by 30% to date

●Process Flow:

oRealigned job stations to complement flow.

oImproved communication between departments.

oEstablish a flow chart to track small parts

oAdjust WIP to achieve maximum throughput

oOrganize and consolidate RTM shop to achieve on time delivery of all RTM parts to Assembly.

oInstitute a RTM mold maintenance program to reduce repair time and boost throughput.

Have been able to reduce WIP by 10% & build time from lay-up to Q.C. is 8 days.

●Quality Improvement:

oImplemented a system of checks and balances to identify issues during the process instead of the end.

oHold employees accountable to improve their skills. Provide training to achieve stated goals.

Rework time reduced by 25% to date. Still improving

●Warehouse:

oStreamline process that takes parts from the shelves to the production floor.

Significant progress has been made in this area.

●Purchasing:

oReview BOM for accuracy. Establish proper lead times and identify critical materials that are top priority.

Significantly reduced boats on hold for vendor parts. Target is zero. Still improving.
