» Identified 406 amino acids long Prolyl Hydroxylase Like Protein (PfPHLP) as a putative TET orthologue in P.falciparum.

» cloned the coding sequence of full-length PfPHLP and different constructs corresponding to its active domain into the Escherichia coli expression vector pGEX-4T1.

» successfully optimized the expression of recombinant GST-tagged full-length PfPHLP in bacterial cells and purified the protein using glutathione affinity chromatography.

Biochemical characterization of dioxygenase activity of PfPHLP and its ability to convert T to 5hmU.

» Biochemical assays are currently being standardized to assess the TET-like activity of GST-PfPHLP. Moreover, the expressions of the PfPHLP active domain constructs are being optimized.

» Although we have not found any significant alternative compound of four antibiotics that is Cephalosporin, Doxycycline, Streptomycin, Tetracycline.
