Bachelors’ Thesis Project on Perovskite Solar Cells Oct’19 - May’20 Supervisor: Dr. Soumitra Satapathi @ Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee [Report Link]

• Performed a literature survey on perovskite solar cells (PSCs) and developed a mathematical model using MATLAB to simulate the magnetic field effect on PSCs.

• Performed electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on PSCs under varying illumination and voltage biases under the influence of a stable magnetic field with the help of a Helmholtz coil.

• Further analysis of the dynamics of cells’ internal parameters like diffusion capacitance & dynamic resistance was performed using equivalent electric circuits.

• A reduced charge-carrier mobility in the high-frequency domain was observed, which, coupled with increasing potential bias, inferred a behavior similar to a high-pass filter. Internship Project on Sodium-ion Energy Storage May’19 – Jul’19 Supervisor: Dr. Sarika Kelkar @ KPIT Technologies, Pune [Report Link]

• Assembled a diverse set of sodium-ion half-cells with varying electrode thickness, doping and electrolyte concentration.

• Performed electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to converge on the best combination & correlated the effects of ageing in pristine and cycled cells with its internal parameters.

• Correlated capacity fades with cycle life using gradient descent algorithm on early cycle life data, without prior knowledge of degradation mechanism.

• Developed a multi-variable linear regression model using python for predicting the cycle life of cells with varying discharge capacities & energies.
