I am looking to augment our income due to the fact that my oldest son has recently started college, and my wife and I are striving to assist him financially as much as we can.

Expert Retail Consultant / Retail Research Analyst (2001 - Present)
I have been a successful “Independent Retail Consultant”, working with clients based primarily in the investment community: Analysts at Hedge Funds, Mutual Funds, Private Equity Firms, as well as Portfolio Managers. I have relevant sources of expertise through my relationships with several former colleagues that currently work for various retailers in the field, and at the home office's of their respective companies. I speak to many of these fellow colleagues on a very regular basis. I have been a successful Retail Consultant over the past 8 + years, conducting many consultations on subjects such as: Wal-Mart, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Big Lots, Costco, TJX, BJ's, Fred's, 99 Cents Only, Current & Future Retail Trends, to name a few.
Dollar General Stores Inc. (Aug. 1999- Nov. 2001)
District Manager, DE, MD, and PA (Based in Lancaster, PA)
Responsible for all facets of leading a 20-25-store district with over 275 associates that reported directly to the Regional Vice-President. District had a total sales volume of $48M with an average of $1.8M per store. Average store size was 10,000 square feet.
*Successfully achieved the # 1 district sales volume and sales increase in the company for five consecutive months.
*Devokeloped an associate incentive program that was implemented company-wide.
*Left Dollar General to pursue the opportunity with Family Dollar Stores. Family Dollar offered more responsibility and a 25% salary increase.
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Aug. 1990 - Aug. 1999)
General Manager, Super-Center Division, Temple, PA (September 1998 - Aug. 1999)
Key responsibilities included day-to-day operations and overall training in the newest division of Wal-Mart. Responsible for all areas of a 200,000 + square foot store. Approximately $95M in annual total sales with approximately 450 associates, eight assistant manager’s, and two co- managers. Reported to the District Manager. Left Wal-Mart to pursue opportunity with Dollar General and gain experience as a multi-unit District Manager.
Store Manager, State College, PA (May 1996 -Sept. 1998)
Responsible for the daily operations of this store. Store was the number one sales volume unit in the entire Wal-Mart chain for four weeks in August 1995 (1995 Ended #14 in total sales for the chain) $47 million/year in total sales. 350 store associates. Store was doing $60 million when I left to go to Super-center.
Store Manager, Circleville, OH (January 1994 - May 1996)
Responsible for all facets of the store including managing approximately 240 associates.
