Dear Hiring Manager,

I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ten years’ experience in critical and acute care along with four years’ experience in home health and durable medical equipment. Throughout the duration of my career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, I have learned a great deal about patient care, family education and accurate documentation for the purpose of billing and services for my patients. I have experience with reporting to physicians and making recommendations for therapy, evaluating and qualifying patients for home health care and Durable Medical Equipment. I have maintained and advanced my skills in all therapeutic modalities including ventilator and airway management. I also have acquired experience in team management and patient advocacy. I am currently seeking a new challenge in a critical care setting that will advance my growth as a therapist.

I feel that the experiences I’ve acquired has enhance my bedside care when a change in patient status occurs and requires escalation of treatment. I am also adept at patient and family education allowing me to ease the adjustment from acute care to the home. I am helpful in discharge planning for my patients and preparing the families for what they should expect and resources that may be helpful in caring for a loved one.
