Licensed in Ohio and before the U.S. Supreme Court Re: Ex-newsman/retiring lawyer renews writing and editing passion (2-pg. resume below) Dear Madam or Sir:

I can write concisely. I worked for 25 years as a newspaper reporter, copy editor and proofreader. I taught writing part-time at Columbus State community college. I trained 200 journalists on legacy computer systems at The Columbus Dispatch. I’ve been a generalized lawyer for 36 years. I’ve got courtroom experience, perform my own legal research, and keep letters to 1 page. I seek flexible wordsmith work. Working in media or law requires tact, precise communication and an ability to think dynamically. I began as a courts, government and investigative reporter. As a reporter in the Youngstown area, I asked ‘the tough question.’ At The Dispatch, I edited and wrote headlines for multiple editions every day. I am a self-taught publishing- systems engineer who did the first online newspaper in 1981. I was promoted to supervise 11 software and/or hardware engineers. We supported 7 computer rooms communicating in the 1980s from Downtown Columbus to a remote printing plant. Time management enabled me to work up to 60 hours a week – and attend night law school at Capital University. Judges and other attorneys compliment me on brevity and concise writing. As a college adjunct professor, I taught communications, beginning- writing and composition. As a lawyer I taught a real-estate ethics to Realtor trainees. Mark Twain said: “I’d have written a shorter letter if I had more time.” Most of my
