U.S. Army Military Police Officer

01/2021 – 11/2022: 43d Adjutant General Battalion (Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri)

Battalion Executive Officer (Major); Principal advisor to the Battalion Commander on all staff actions; validate Unit Status Reports. Responsible for providing guidance to the commander and supervising and managing all staff officer functions, initiating personnel actions, and prepared information/decision briefs, operations orders, and executive level reports for the Battalion, Brigade, and Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, as well as maintained knowledge management and synchronization of calendars, operational flow, quality control, and fiscal budget for the battalion; consisting of over 1000 Soldiers, Civilians, and trainees weekly.

Additionally served as the Operations Officer; Evaluated the operational and organizational concepts in preparing studies and system management plans involving the Department of Defense initial entry process. Analyzed information received from various organizations/levels to include Headquarters Department of Army, MACOMS, Commands, Maneuver Support and Proponent Schools to develop Council of Colonels and General Officer Senior Executive Services information/decision briefs and operations orders.

Served as the supervisor for four DoD Civilians, the Primary Government Purchase Card / Defense Travel System billing official and oversaw all battalion programs. Additionally responsible for all coordination between Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, three Combat Training Brigades, and Training and Doctrine Command.

In-processed a total of over 24,000 Initial Entry Army Recruits. Managed a battalion annual fiscal budget in excess of $2,000,000; meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds.

06/2019 - 01/2021: Army Futures Command (Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri)

Chief of Protection Branch (Major) for the Capability Development and Integration Directorate; personally selected by the Military Police Commandant. Duties of directing the U.S. Army’s Protection Program and Capabilities; directly reporting to the Military Police Commandant and the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Commanding General. Served as the supervisor for six DOD civilians and 12 contract civilians.

Responsible for daily operations, planning, analysis, and briefing of Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities (DOTMLPF-P) capability development solutions for the Protection Branch. Conducted daily management and operation of capability development efforts and taskings (internal/external). Evaluated the operational and organizational concepts in preparing studies and system management plans involving the Department of Defense acquisition process to thrive in Multi Domain Operations.

Represented the CDID Protection Branch as the Director of Protection programs during the Council of Colonels and GO level forums articulating and supporting Army Futures Command and Deputy Commanding General of Protection’s guidance with a high level of understanding of the Army Modernization Enterprise. Analyzed information received from various organizations/levels to include Joint, Headquarters Department of Army, MACOMS, Commands, Maneuver Support and Proponent Schools to develop Council of Colonels and General Officer Senior Executive Services information/decision briefs and operations orders.

Analyzed the development of, and formulate priorities for, new Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities and Policy solutions within Industry, Academia, Science and Technology communities to identify near, mid, and far term initiatives to support Protection Operations. Additionally, conducted analysis of products developed by internal working groups addressing Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities-Policies equities to ensure they effectively compete within the Program Objective Memorandum and Strategic Portfolio Assessment Review processes for resourcing allocations for Protection equipment.

Responsible for preparing information/decision briefs, operations orders, and executive level reports to Capability Development and Integration Directorate (CDID), Military Police Commandant, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Futures and Concepts Center, and Army Futures Command. Additionally responsible for developing and managing Army capabilities development operation efforts through the Army Modernization Development Processes (Army Modernization Strategy and Annual Modernization Guidance) for Army Protection, as well as Military Police, Forensic Science, Biometrics, and Robotics and AI integration; Direct leadership over the acquisition process for the Army’s protection fiscal budget, equipment, technology, and programs.

Directed, managed, and operated 12 Army Protection Programs (total operating budget of $700,000,000); resulting in meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds. Author of the Army’s Forensic Science Strategy 2021. Additionally, I was commended by the Post CG and the MP Commandant for my leadership, actions, and accomplishments.

05/2018 - 06/2019: Provost Marshal Office, 8th Army HQ (Camp Humphreys, S. Korea)

Antiterrorism and Force Protection (ATFP) Operations Officer (Captain) for 8th Army; the Army Command for county of South Korea, with six subordinate brigade commands, and over 19,000 Soldiers. Additionally served as the Operations Security Program Manager and Emergency Management Alternate Program Manager.

Responsible for and managed all Antiterrorism, Force Protection, Operational Security, Critical Infrastructure, Emergency Management, and Continuity of Operations for the country of South Korea; resulting in a cumulative 98% achieved on all Army program inspections. Evaluated the operational and organizational concepts in preparing studies and system management plans involving the Department of Defense acquisition process. Additionally responsible for the coordinating and conducting of all ATFP function Vulnerability and Threat Assessments within 8th Army at the Corp Level; conducted all assessments for each of the nine Army bases in South Korea.

Represented 8th Army as an action officer for several programs during the Council of Colonels and GO level forums articulating and supporting 8th Army Provost Marshal guidance with a high level of understanding of the Army Modernization Enterprise. Operated and managed the ATFP operational and fiscal budget for 8th Army (totaling $250,000), as well as the protection equipment contracts (totaling $195,000,000); resulting in meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds. Co-authored the U.S. Army Base Defense, Forensic Science, and Counter UAS Strategies, and wrote the Operations Security Program and Standard Operation Procedure for 8th Army in South Korea. Worked as a member of a team for the management and operation of ATFP capability development efforts and taskings (internal/external).

As the 8th Army OPSEC and the Antiterrorism Officer, through quality control, I received a 96% rating on both Inspections of Command Programs from United States Forces Korea and United States Army Pacific Command. Additionally, I was commended by 8th Army Commanding General for actions, expertise, and accomplishments by leading the Army base defense strategy and exercise.

04/2015 - 04/2018: University of Colorado and Colorado State University (Colorado)

Battalion Operations Officer (Captain Promotable) and Assistant Professor of Military Science for the University of Colorado and Colorado State University Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) Programs. Additionally served as the Department Director of Military Science at Colorado State University under the Dean of the College of Arts and Science. Additionally served as the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Officer.

Responsible for all operations, curriculum, training, fiscal budgeting, quality control, and recruiting for Colorado State University and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs ROTC programs. Conducted daily management and operations of all ROTC operations and classes, initiate personnel actions, maintained knowledge management, synchronization of multiple calendars, and prepared information/decision briefs and operations orders to UCCS ROTC Command and the 3rd BDE USACC. Additionally, I taught over 800 hours of instruction to develop leaders who can lead, assess, and succeed in Multi Domain Operations.

Managed and operated the combined annual program budget for the Army ROTC budget and Colorado State University Military Science Department budget (totaling $100,000); resulting in meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds.

Recognized as one of the top 5% of Army ROTC Instructors and as one of the top three Captains (out of 37) by the Brigade Commander; recommended for promotion below zone to Major, as well as selection for resident CGSOC.

02/2013 - 10/2014: 984th Military Police Company (Fort Carson, Colorado)

Company Commander (Captain) for a Combat Support Military Police Company, with a total of 168 Military Police Soldiers conducting law enforcement for the Fort Carson Community consisting of over 72,000 Soldiers, Family members, and Civilians.

Responsible for daily operations, planning, analysis, and briefing of all Military Police readiness, personnel, and operations, as well as prepared information/decision briefs and operations orders to the 984th Military Police Company leadership, 759th Military Police Battalion Commander, and the 42nd Military Police Brigade Commander. Additionally validate Unit Status Reports, initiate personnel actions, managed systems, synchronized calendars, and conducted coordination and fact-finding to ensure accuracy of information.

Responsible for managing a company operational and fiscal budget (totaling $250,000), as well as company property and equipment (in excess of $30,000,000) quality control; resulting in meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds. Established a Law Enforcement Certification Program; increased certified LE personnel by 70%. Additionally, revitalized the company’s maintenance program; resulting in an Operational Readiness rating of 99%.

Prioritized and synchronized objectives to ensure all efforts meet the intent of the applicable guidance to ensure Company was fully capable of conducting long range Multi Domain Operations. Responsible for the planning, synchronization, briefing, training, and deployment of one Law Enforcement Detachment to support operations in Afghanistan and three Personal Security Details to General Officers in Kabul, Qatar, and Kuwait; resulting in four flawless deployment of personnel who received numerous accolades for three PSD teams and one-forty person Law and Order Detachment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Recognized as one of the top three company commanders (out of 47) by the Brigade Commander; recommended to promote below zone to MAJ and select for resident CGSOC.

11/2010 - 02/2013: 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry DIV (Fort Carson, CO)

Brigade Provost Marshal (Captain); Also served as the Antiterrorism and Force Protection Officer, and Assistant Operations Officer for an Infantry Brigade of over 5,000 Soldiers.

As the assistant operations officer and lead planner, I managed, coordinated, and controlled the transferring and descoping of 18 FOBs and COPs. Assisted in prioritizing and the synchronization of objectives to ensure all efforts meet the intent of the applicable guidance to ensure the Brigade was fully capable of conducting long range Multi Domain Operations.

Responsible for complete oversight of all law enforcement operations and actions within the brigade. Additionally responsible for all ATFP Measures, Police Station Provost Marshal, Detainee Operations, 25 Military Working Dog Teams, oversight of four Military Police Companies, and the tracking all law enforcement operations and the management of 54 Law Enforcement Professionals and 24 Embedded Police Mentors deployed to Afghanistan.

Conducted 60 Vulnerability and Force Protection Assessments for 32 Forward Operations Bases (FOB) and Combat Outposts (COP); requisitioning the necessary ATFP equipment to maintain 100% operational security and the protection of all personnel. Additionally served as the Program Manager for all Force Protection Capabilities; coordinated, managed, developed/acquired capabilities and increased overall protection within N2KL by over 80%.

Managed and operated the 4ID Antiterrorism and Force Protection (ATFP) fiscal budget for N2KL region of Afghanistan for all training, operations, ATFP equipment (in excess of $150,000,000); resulting in meeting budget milestones and zero loss of funds. Additionally, received a 92% rating during a CENTCOM Inspection of our Military Working Dog Program and received a 95% rating on two separate CJTF-1 Inspections of Command Programs.

Currently I am serving as the lead NSI investigator on an ongoing missing persons’ case in Rhode Island.

My role is to assist law enforcement agencies in the investigation and recovery of human remains; missing persons and homicide cold cases, which involved domestic violence and child abuse.
