Remote online tutor to middle school-aged students enrolled in Boston Public Schools [BPS].
Duties include: Administer pre- and post-assessments in English- Language Arts and Math. Plan & implement regularly scheduled tutoring sessions, focusing on homework, missing work completion, or targeted skill instruction [such as Extended School Year services, Writer’s prep course, or Math summer boot camp]. Use the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and student’s Individual Education Plans, if applicable, in order to improve student mastery of skills. Provide extension, reteaching, and extra practice in order to gain mastery of skills and deficit areas. Complete session notes in a timely fashion. Data collection and analysis. Contact and build relationships with BPS teachers in order to assure the student is demonstrating carryover of skills learned in tutoring. Parent contact during each session to monitor parent concerns and answer questions about the student’s progress.
