M/S.Emirates Float Glass LLC., ABUDHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES : Manufacturer of Float Glass : Clear and tinted glass, under the technology license of PPG,USA. A subsidiary of Dubai Investments Group.
Manager – Rawmaterials, Quality
Quality Control of Glass raw materials - naturally occurring minerals and synthetic chemicals.
Sourcing and Vendor development to reduce the cost – supplier’s process audits.
Quality control of mixed batch.
Preparation and ensuring the implementation of test methods as per QEHS Management systems.
New Laboratory set up and installation of XRF spectrometers – 2 models Minipal 4 and Epsilon 3XLE,AAS spectrometer and accessories,Glass cutting and grinding machines.

Achievements:
Developed new sources for raw materials Silica sand,Dolomite,Limestone,Soda,salt cake,Iron oxide,Carbon,Selenium,Cobalt oxide and Sodium nitrate etcwithin GCC and EUROPE.
New laboratory set up was done by installing XRF machine and accessories used in QC of raw materials.
Developed all standard operating procedures complying integrated Management systems of Quality,Environment and Health.
Trained the lab technicians on Quality,Environment,Health & Safety systems.
Evolved homogenizing systems for critical raw materials to get intended composition 1991 to 2008

Achievements:
Developed cheaper alternate vendors for key Glass Raw materials like Kaolin Clay,Limestone,Quartz,Dolomite and Sodium silicofluoride which resulted in reduction of cost of batch input, in turn the cost of final product.
Increased glass pull by around 5% - yielding 5 million rupees cost saving per annum by changing the batch formulations.
Improved size efficiency by conducting DOE techniques.
Improved efficiency of product through six sigma technique
