DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Receiving, assessing and monitoring of the acutely ill patients

Total nursing care based on the nursing process

Emergency management of cardio pulmonary arrest, CVA, LVF, CRF, COPD and other cardiac and non-cardiac emergencies

Total nursing care of patients in the mechanical ventilator.

Performing cardio version and resuscitation

Care of tracheostomy patients

Maintaining accurate records and reports

Liaison with physician and medical staff

Monitoring and maintaining vital parameters hourly

Assisting the diagnostic procedures including lumbar puncture, pleural tapping, abdominal paracentesis, bone marrow aspiration, colonoscopy, endoscopy, renal biopsy, liver biopsy, and irrigation.

ET suctioning, TT suctioning and Oral suctioning

Maintaining the personal hygiene of the patient that in sponge bath, mouth care, back care, catheter care, bowel care, hair wash and nail care.

Take over the assigned patients from the earliest shift staff nurse with relevant details of the patients.

Inform doctors and supervisors immediately in case of any deviation from acceptable parameters are observed in the patients.

Admission of the patients.

Taking care of the unconscious patients.

Introducing airway and oxygen administration.

Insertion of Rule's tube.

Administration of medication.

Transfusion of blood and blood products.

Administration of oxygen though nasal prongs, face masks and BIPAP.

Care of patients with diabetes, multi organ failure and oncology disease.

Administration of parenteral nutrition.

Assisting for central line, arterial line, dialysis catheter insertion and intubation.

Dressing both minor and major.

Collection of specimens.

Pre- and Post-operative care of patients (Ortho, general, G.I., neurology, cardiac, nephrology, and urology.)

Preparation of trays of intubation and sedation including emergency medicine.

Care of patients with inter costal drainage.

Care of patient has undergone amputation and meet their needs.

Developing good nurse- patient relationship.

Assess the physical and mental condition of the patients.

Securing peripheral line.

Coordinating the patient care with other members of the health care team.
