Dr. Alsinawi is an LEG Senior Arabic Linguist/ translator,worked with SAIC from March 2006 to 2013. Then transferred to Leidos from 2013-2014. Worked as Language and Cultural Linguist at the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in Arlington, VA during (2005-2006).

Dr. Alsinawi is always involved with Arabic language translation, a student of Middle Eastern historical

development and Culture as related to Islam and its influence on the societies, their cultures and habits as influenced by political and social environment and traditions. Familiar with most of the Arabic language dialects.

A member of the American Translator Association(ATA). As a senior Arabic language linguist he was involved in direct translation of texts, audios from English to Arabic but mostly from Arabic to English. He has attended courses in simultaneous translation and interpretation from and into Arabic.

Employed as Senior Scientist at the ITT Industries /Advanced Engineering and Sciences, Arms Control Technology Center, DTRA/SETA Support, Alexandria, VA., dealing with geophysical monitoring for the nuclear Test Ban treaty- nuclear proliferation (2002-2003).

Originally a geophysicist/seismologist with over 35 years of experience in various aspects of Earth Science, university education, national and regional seismic networking,consulting,research management and academic administration. Former professor at Baghdad university, working for the period 1968-1992. Authored 13 text books in both English and Arabic.

A Doctorate degree from St. Louis University, MS in Geophysics from Stanford University and a BSc in Geology from the University of Baghdad .Assumed the posts of Department Head and professor of seismology at the university of Baghdad (1980-1987),Director and founder of the Iraqi Seismological Network (1976-1980). Chairman, Department of Geology, University Of Baghdad(1981-1989).

Worked with the UNESCO as an IGCP Board member for the period (1982-1986) and a seismologist expert team member for the UNESCO PAMERAR program. A participant in the USGS supported program of RELEMR for the period (1993- 2004).
