Rite Aid Pharmacy/ Community Pharmacy 1999-2007 Philadelphia PA, and Southern New Jersey

Began as a pharmacy technician eventually progressing to Pharmacist where I filled prescriptions daily. Primarily worked in “difficult” stores because of my easy interplay with patients. I reached the distinction of Pharmacist in charge in a multitude of stores in the Philadelphia and south Jersey Area up until 2007.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Information Specialist for the Americas 2008-2009 NJ/Remote

Contract position where due to my fluency in Spanish and BMS offices and contacts in predominantly Spanish speaking countries, I was tasked with translating our respective Clinical Literature from English to Spanish and vice versa dependent on the project. Also, I fielded calls from Central and South America regarding BMS products, Clinical Trials, and pipeline. Extremely familiar with IND’s, AMA style, adverse event reports, and their translation from English to Spanish. Had to edit multitude of literature and had to be familiar with a plethora of medical subjects to coincide with KOL specialties. Produced Powerpoint presentations on variety of subjects and had to be expert knowledgeable in-order to handle questions and requests from medical audience.

Dovetail Pharmacy in conjunction with United Health Care 2009-2010 Boston, Ma and Remote

One of the first companies to start using pharmacists for Medication Therapy Management programs. Performed patient assessments and/ or comprehensive review of prescriptions and their possible interaction or side effects. Formulated both short and long term medication treatment plans. Monitored safety and efficacy of any and all prescription medication plans through detailed medical record scans and verbal screening in English and Spanish ensuring directional or instruction-based compliance through patient education. Patients received instructions in English and Spanish including the translating of Medical literature to their preferred language. Had to be up to date with all medical specialties inorder to ascertain any issues that could’ve been missed by the diagnostic or therapeutician teams.

RX Consults 2010-2012 NJ/ Remote

Consultant Pharmacy specializing in nursing home chart reconciliation for appropriate dosing, non interactions with current medication regimen, addressing of medical complaints that could be medication related, interaction with whole medical team in-order to optimize medical care, formulated plans for each patient in Nursing home/s who had patients in the excess of 500 people sometimes on a daily basis. Produced medical literature for in house staff for plan verification as well as presentations to Physicians, nurses, and aides when explanation of a product was needed. Helped Nursing homes get accredited by the state when reviews came up by placing medications, medical devices and other/s in designated places as stated by monograph or state law.

HealthFirst Pilot Program 2012-2013 NJ/Remote

Tailored Medication Therapy Management to Spanish speaking patients primarily but did so for English patients also. As such I have extensive experience in communicating with the laymen whether written or spoken in English or Spanish. Developed an entire program using my CGP as the base since most of our patients were geriatric, whereby doctors and other HCP’s were alerted to better medical alternatives since many medications change in their pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamics profile as a people reach 65 and older. On occasion completely transcribed monographs in Spanish if it wasn’t company available and further tailored it for easy patient understanding. Provided detailed medical plans in both English and Spanish, medically literate and laymen, and/or escalated and differentiated between adverse events for reporting. On a daily basis had to identify adverse events, side effects, and as a mandated reporter reported to the FDA and the company in question. Familiar with PSUR’s and IND’s whereby I had to edit and appreciate deadlines accordingly. Write in accordance to AMA style.

Joan Creative NYC, NY 2022

Serving as Creative Medical counsel for upcoming project involving Fentanyl PSA. Gave a complete informational presentation regarding the dangers of Fentanyl. Including in depth analysis of its actions even after Narcan is administered, to its short half life thus it being cut with Xylazine to give it endurance, and it’s ability to affect the serotonin receptor system which can lead to further addictive capabilities.
