Lead Nurse COVID Distribution Team – Fresno County Department of Public Health Fresno, CA Dec 2020 – Current

Managed the ordering of vaccine for the County of Fresno during the pandemic. Responsible for the maintenance, distribution, storage and handling of vaccine, and weekly inventory reports. Provided education to new providers for state approval. Facilitated the authorization of continued use of vaccine, tracked dosage waste, performed vaccination utilization reviews, and conducted daily audits on local healthcare providers for temperature excursions. Developed and provided onboard training to new nurses within the distribution and clinical teams.

During the height of COVID, mobilized to act as the clinical lead of a mass vaccination site. Responsibilities included developing schedules, training health care staff on the administration of vaccine, maintaining cold chain temperature regulation, observation for adverse reactions in patients and how to respond in the event of an emergency. Managed the organization and implementation of pop-up clinics county wide. Participated in multiple emergency response exercises with the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) program. Organized and performed nasopharyngeal swabs for all staff to maintain CDPH regulations for county employees and volunteer staff.
