Key member of executive leadership team, with full responsibility for strategic communications efforts to external audiences, promoting Covad’s next-generation broadband and Voice over IP achievements. Spearheaded all communications strategies and messaging, agency management, and media relations – resulting in increased volume of positive press mentions by 53 percent over two-year period. Expanded and directed multi-city team of media relations executives resulting in improved regional media coverage. Evangelized Covad as preeminent VoIP leader by creating an industry analyst outreach program to 50+ analysts, resulting in more frequent and favorable company coverage in research reports and online forums.
Led all investor and financial analyst communications, including annual report, investor conferences, earnings calls, and proactive outreach. Developed and executed successful strategy to educate investor audiences in the time period leading up to the acquisition of Covad by a private equity firm in April 2008. Established highly effective regional and national ‘value’ pricing strategies and set pricing levels in response to new market entrants – resulting in increased market share and revenue. Created and directed program of competitive analysis and reporting to better equip sales and marketing teams. Reduced churn and increased customer satisfaction scores by directing $6 million customer loyalty budget to reinforce relationships between sales, marketing, customer service, and a customer base of 800,000 wireless subscribers.
