Human Services Childline Division – Extensive phone usage; data entry and organizational skills utilized daily; assisted customers with info provided for child abuse clearances for the Commonwealth of PA and/or for the FBI database, SafeCheck, and regarding NSOR (National Sex Offender Registry); ran criminal history checks; typed applications/clearances into the computer system for processing; updated missing info for applicants as information was provided; participated in mass mailings of duplicates out to clients and/or to their businesses of consent on record; updated multiple databases as needed; general office work as assigned; etc.

Susquehanna Transit (left due to early retirement & moved out of state)

Susquehanna Transportation West Shop - Responsible for both duties: driving special needs school-aged children in a passenger van to and from school, and was also an aide for other van and/or bus drivers transporting special needs children. PA Child Abuse clearance received prior to employment. Responsible for picking up multiple children from their home bus stops and driving them to their appropriate school. Then returned in the afternoon to pick them up from school and returned them to their home bus stops. When working as an aide, responsibilities included making sure all children were securely buckled in their seats and assisting them along the route, if needed. Sometimes that included breaking up fights, stopping inappropriate behaviors, etc.

Dept of Public Welfare - Extensive interviewing of clients and assisting them obtaining welfare benefits (food stamps, medical, Liheap, etc). Assess clients’ social service and employment needs, provide information, makes appropriate referrals and conducts follow-ups as needed. Assist clients in preparing for and locating employment. In charge of greeting clients as they came into the office and assisted them with their needs, referring them to their caseworker if required.
