Major project

BALANCING OF CYCLE TIME WITH TAKT TIME AND PRODUCTIVITY IMPROVEMENT THROUGH FACILITY REDESIGN.

Description: Production of GATE valve of class 150 was not meeting the customer demand and on time delivery was not possible to achieve. Redesigning the facility layout has also improved in reducing the cycle time and the material travel distance; this has resulted in improving the productivity from 5valves per day to 9valves per day and an increase in sales revenue of Rs 22, 00,000 per month

Minor project:

TO STUDY THE FACTORS AFFECTING EMPLOYEE RETENTION IN INDUSTRY Description: The employee retention is the major and most critical challenge for workforce management. Retention rates generally falls as employees become distracted, confused and preoccupied with potential outcomes immediately following an organizational transition.

Generally we can relate this retention pattern of employee to many organizations. In this study, we focus on comparing the retention management practices that makes people stay in some of hotels. In other words, this study examines the reasons behind why employees stay and how these retention factors differ in different hotels of the same city. In this project we considered Hubli city as it is having varieties of hotels and one of developing city. This project is helpful in decision making in hotel management regarding retention of hotel employee and reducing the factors affecting employee retention. Too much of retention leads to unstable management, unappreciable working culture and loss of resources in working environment. Proposed work will be able to identify these factors and reducing. Achievements:

“TRAIN WHEEL ELECTRICITY GENERATION”

To transfer the kinetic energy of train wheel to the power generation rollers the rotational energy is transformed from wheel to roller.

Then mechanical energy is stabilized by gear box and is fed to generator such that conversion of energy takes place hence electrical energy is stored in battery. In general, (Indian railway) while entering into the railway station, the speed of the train (irrespective of the type of service) is cut off at foul mark. (It is a point, which is 1200 m away from the station – Indian railway rules). The train will move only by its moment of inertia. The energy stored in the train cannot be fully recovered by regenerative braking. We are going to tap that wasteful energy and convert it into electrical energy. A PROJECT ON FLOW THROUGH NOTCHES

Description: Notches allow Hydrologists and Engineers a simple method of measuring the volumetric flow rate in small to medium-sized streams or in industrial discharge locations. Since the geometry of the top of the notch is known and all water flows over the notch, the depth of water behind the notch can be converted to a rate of flow. The calculation relies on the fact that fluid will pass through the critical depth of the flow regime in the vicinity of the crest of the notch. In this project, the main objective is to find the discharge of fluid flowing through varied shape of notches. (Rectangular & V-Notch). Its practical applications are discharge of water through canals, rivers etc.

Was active member of "MESCICO" a mechanical student’s forum, Hosted State & National Level Inter-College and Inter-Branch fests at AITM
