1.A complete understanding of the CBSE and ICSE boards: functioning, affiliation and curriculum implementation.

2.I have had the opportunity to work for six years, as PGT Biology and HOD Environmental Science in St Joseph's Academy in Dehradun (ISC Board), which is the best day school in the city.

3.Implementing CCE across the school: As a Principal of K-12 School (Manav Bharati India International School, Dehradun) was instrumental in implementing CCE across the school, in a creative manner. Conducted workshops for Teachers on it also.

4.Curriculum planning: As Vice Principal at Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar worked as the Curriculum Coordinator, involved in framing the new curriculum for classes IVth to VIIIth. Have written the science book for class IVth based on the new curriculum.

5.Syllabus implementation: As an Academic Head, I ensure that the transaction in the classrooms is being carried out according to the syllabus as planned at the beginning of each session. This is accomplished by conducting regular meetings with the HODs and through observation classes.

6.Abreast of all the educational changes in India and the world. The field of education is transforming the world. The 21st century augurs a challenge for educationists. As a leader, I ensure that my colleagues are equally motivated to learn about all the happenings in the field through workshops, informal interactions or self-study.

7.Ability to build a team of dedicated teachers. A Leader has to lead by example. I am fair and impartial in my approach, which is evident in my day to day work style. I give credit where it is due, and pay heed to those who bring innovative and creative ideas to the table. This has paid me rich dividends, in building a team who understands the ethos of working in an educational organisation.

9.Ability to inspire students by setting a personal example. If Teachers are the backbone of any school, students are the lifeline of the school. A good school is known by the quality of its students, which is not just reflected by the academic performance but through the overall personality and demeanour of the students. I don’t believe in preaching too much, but by saying what I do. I am a person with wide interests and am able to communicate with my students at different levels. As a teacher, leader, guide, philosopher and sometimes as a friend.

10.A good communicator: It is imperative for anybody who is at the helm of the affairs to be a good communicator. I love the English language and am also an avid reader. This has been a blessing in disguise as it makes communication easy and has also given me a good understanding of the psyche of different people whom I meet in my capacity as a school leader.
