CONSULTANT DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL

YOUTH ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT, October 2019 – Present

• Developed a 3-day training for a virtual Farmer to Farmer organizational and leadership development assignment with an agricultural company in Tanzania through remote facilitation sessions with mid-managerial employees. Pivoted to recruit an in- person trainer and counseled with them on the in -person train-the-trainer model for sustainability.

• Conducted a virtual 3 week, 6 one-hour sessions Farmer to Farmer organizational and leadership project for Ecuador Coffee and Cacao cooperatives.

• Work in progress - USDA FAS Georgia Agricultural Extension Strategies - consultant for national extension strategy and women and youth engagement.

• Work in progress - Co-Editor of Special Issue for Journal of Youth Development on International Positive Youth Development to be published in spring 2021.

CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS – USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) NATIONAL PROGRAM LEADER, July 2018 – October 2019

• Established Cooperative Extension resources for international opportunities, emphasized international youth and adult engagement strategies in agriculture, non-formal learning, and leadership development.

• Collaborated with key stakeholders to orchestrate a positive environment with federal agencies to enhance workforce development and employability opportunities for a global workforce.

• Subject matter expert provided technical knowledge for USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service with Tanzania agricultural service providers’ curriculum, youth development and extension strategies in Mexico, and youth engagement strategies in agriculture.

• Streamlined success through technical expertise with USAID on collaborative projects with Bureau for Food Security’s Feed the Future of a landscape inventory and draft report to track youth programs, Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment (E3) for Higher Education Positive Youth Development (PYD) Map for Older Youth, and a continuum of youth agricultural programs for agricultural market systems and civic engagement strategies. • Revitalized the National 4-H Strategic Plan in collaboration with over 110+ land-grant extension partners reaching 6M+ youth participants and 500,000 volunteers with key elements of program quality, accountability, access, equity and opportunity, and learning in Science, Healthy Living, and Civic Engagement. • Managed $47M in capacity-funded programmatic efforts, $8.3M for at risk youth and $5.1M with military-service branch partners CONUS, OCONUS, active guard and reserve youth and adult programming.

• Represented agency on the Federal Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs and served 8 years as Agency career representative to OJJDP's Dept. of Justice's Federal Coordinating Council representative.

• Positioned National 4-H Conference as vehicle for youth voice, so youth are regarded as change agents on topical issues relevant to youth’s health, education, and employability with 15 federal agencies. Modeled youth-adult partnerships leveraged PYD with other federal agencies and informed House and Senate Ag Committee members through youth briefings.

• Collaborated with Center for Disease Control (CDC)’s Infectious Zoonotic Disease, Animal Plant and Inspection Service (APHIS) on human and animal health interactions related to H3N2v outbreaks and Zika. Leveraged relationships to secure funds from the Council on State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) for youth-adult partnership programs.

• Developed the Science Emphasis Area (SEA) of Positive Youth Development as one of nine NIFA Science priorities to reflect USDA strategic plan and research, economics, and education (REE) mission area. Additional Relevant Experience
