Senior IT Operations Manager

Managing a team of 120 + technicians, Supervisors and Engineers on the technical service desk (National Telehealth Technologies Help Desk) in support of the Veterans Affairs Office for all Telehealth equipment. Also managing the Asset Management Team creating processes and procedures for the newly acquired team. Meeting weekly with VA management to implement projects and tasks in a 24x7 environment. Planned for and hired 60 new tier 1 candidates remotely due to surge in call activity because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Creating weekly dashboards and presenting to VA management. Distributing tasks to the helpdesk and identifying senior staff for projects and deadlines. Creating metrics for efficiencies and reporting on them. Managing vendor relationships. Lockheed Martin, Washington, DC

Manager of Network Operations 1/2011-10/2015

Managed the internal support teams (Network, ADPE, and MIS) on the NISC contract management office supporting the FAA as well as the NDE task order supporting virtual development servers, and databases. Tasks include IT budget, purchasing, planning, hiring, and employee mentoring. Responsible for introducing new ideas to decrease cost and increase productivity. Primary liaison between Lockheed Martin and FAA technical teams for the implementation of new technology, network provisioning, support, trouble shooting and customer development. ABC Imaging, Inc., Washington, DC 10/2005 – 1/2011

IT Network Manager

Built and managed a team of Engineers in support of the ABC network. Responsible for IT budget, planning, implementation, hiring, and employee reviews. Originally hired as an Engineer to overhaul the dated network. Managed a 15 node WAN in various locations, nationally and internationally, connected to each other and HQ with DIA circuits via meshed IPSEC tunnels. Implemented a new internal network using a Cisco 4507 catalyst switch as the backbone and Cisco 2960/80 catalyst switches in each department with multiple VLANs. Implemented a multihomed network with a 100 Meg circuit with Cogent and a 10 meg circuit with XO via BGP for failover.

Qwest Communications, Arlington, VA 4/2001 – 10/2005

Lead VPN Implementations Engineer

Implemented private routed circuits through Nortel Shasta SMS. Configured and troubleshot customer Cisco routers. Configured Firewall, and NAT policies on Nortel SMS 5000. Tested the circuit from Qwest through the LEC to the customer to make sure circuit is in working order then activate port. Tested circuits through React 2001. Configured Shasta and Juniper Edge Routers on the Qwest network. Responsible for Domestic and International VPN’s as well as Remote Access using Nortel Contivity boxes. Lead role included being highest point of escalation within VPN group. On call for escalations and problem activations. Configured MPLS circuits for VPN customers out of region with Juniper routers.

Technologies Services. Managed 3 Exchange servers. Responsible for maintaining 30+ WINNT/Win2000 servers, 3 domains, 280+ direct users, 1000+ Corporate MS Exchange users, as well as documenting the network for C2 compliance. Managed the help desk technicians. Responsible for maintaining the company LAN/WAN through Cisco routers and BAY Network switches. Proposed new technology and gave presentations to upper management.
