Concept & Storyboard Artist (Contract), Brooklyn, NY 2018 – Present Produce Concept and storyboard art for clients in the entertainment and advertising industries for executive presentation or final art. Listen to clients needs and then develop multiple rough directions toward final concept art. Utilize drawing skills in Photoshop on a Cintiq, along with any existing client assets to produce and deliver multiple images within a tight deadline. Created Storyboardista.com brand to support concept art and storyboard client work. Key projects include:
• Developed numerous concept images for USANetwork and Syfy
(NBCUniversal). Work for original series includes: Mr. Robot, Resident Alien, Suits, Miz & Mrs., Chrisley Knows Best, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Psych, Warehouse 13, Royal Pains, The Starter Wife, In Plain Sight, Sirens, Cha$e, Eureka, and Burn Notice.
• Participated in creative development meetings with executives and producers to draw POV’s in real time.
• Produced storyboards and concepts for advertising agencies that include Foote, Cone & Belding, Pereira & O’Dell, and Arnold Worldwide.
• Composed published illustrations for the Boston Globe, LA Times, Kauffman Foundation, and Bloomsbury Publishing.
• Digitally painted 3D renderings of proposed garden centers for Home Depot.
Staff Illustrator, Havas Worldwide, New York, NY 2000 – 2018 Worked with creative directors, art directors, producers and copywriters to compose storyboards and concept art in traditional and digital mediums. Collaborated with other creative and production personnel, accomplished requested revisions on concurrent multiple projects, to meet hard deadlines for client presentation. Key projects include:
• Composed storyboards and concepts for Intel, IBM, Universal Studios, Heineken, Hyatt, Jaguar, Oppenheimer Funds, Charles Schwab, Keurig, Liberty Mutual, GlaxoSmithKline, Bayer, Sanofi, Hyatt and TD Ameritrade.
• Produced interior and exterior designs for promotional environment proposals for Volvo and Evian.
• Produced initial storyboards and concepts for the development of The Most Interesting Man in the World campaign for Dos Equis, working on its entire span of 12 years.
• Worked with lead creative director and copywriter to develop the specific visual approach and illustrations for a successful agency bid for PayPal that was carried into the finished campaign after the win. Staff Illustrator, Gregg & Associates Design, Kansas City, MO 1993 – 1998 Worked in a variety of traditional and digital mediums, as needed to suite the wide array of clients and specific projects. Key projects include:
• Produced Finished Illustrations for Simon & Schuster, Marriott Hotels, Hallmark, Universal Press Syndicate and Sprint.
• Principal illustrator for three years for the debut line of printed original merchandise for Saturday Night Live.
College Teaching Experience
Adjunct Faculty, School of Visual Arts, New York, NY 2006 – Present Develop courses and teach drawing in the Advertising and Fine Art departments for a variety of classes that range from Foundation Drawing, Intermediate Drawing to Drawing on Location in the MFA Illustration as Visual Essay program.
• Teach summer courses in drawing in mixed media to international students since 2014.
• Adapted to teaching via zoom since Spring 2020.
• Shot and edited class demonstrations in Adobe Premier Rush as addendum to virtual class work.
• Give public presentations and demonstrations.
