Objective: To obtain employment that allows the use of my Metallurgical Engineering degree along with 33 years of experience in manufacturing to benefit the company and provide full time employment. I believe my experience and training as Process Engineer and manager can be utilized in any type of industry.

Education: BS Metallurgical Engineering, University of Kentucky, May, 1988

Work history: The last two summers before graduating from the University of Kentucky I worked for Armco Ashland works. I hired in full time with Armco upon graduation in1988. I transferred to Middletown, Oh. In 1994 for two years. During this time Armco, Ashland and Middletown became AK Steel Corporation. I moved back to the Ashland facility in Jan. of 1996.

Summer work: This included Pulling coax, installing computer equipment, banding coils, packaging sheets of steel for shipment, janitorial work, etc.

Full time:

Associate process Metallurgist, entry level position working closely with the line operators to learn the process and help with quality improvements.

Product Metallurgist, managing the Galvanized and Terne products from melt to customer delivery. This included reviewing customer specifications and establishing a metallurgical routing that produced an end product that satisfied the customer mechanically and cosmetically. Data analysis, product yield improvement, new order review, and problem solving were some of the responsibilities associated with this position. Customer base was appliance, construction as well as automotive.

Process Engineer, responsible for operating instructions, quality and production improvements, as well as training of hourly employees. I also worked as a project engineer for new equipment installation. I was also involved in external and internal quality audits, environmental audits and safety audits. Coordinated new part trials with Research and Quality Control. I was also responsible for data analysis and quality improvement projects as well as unit yield improvement projects.

Manage all environmental aspects of the Finishing department. Monitor waste water quality as well as air emissions and universal waste.

Supervisor, plant services, responsible for all piping throughout the plant that carries water, steam, natural gas, nitrogen, hydrogen, sewer and waste water. Also managed refrigeration.

Manager, Shipping, I was responsible for coil shipments out of the plant both by truck and by rail. Also worked closely with commercial to make sure coils were packaged and ready on time for delivery to the customer.
