ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Design of Steel Frame Office Building (3 story) Jan 2019 - May 2019

● Designing the different structural components of the building roof and floor decks, columns, beams, joists, and girders with the help of AISC manual and MS excel

● Determined wind loads and lateral loads, designed moment frame and braced frame connections Multidisciplinary Colloquium Project Jan 2019- May 2019

● Researched about the structural health monitoring of bridges: Risk based maintenance optimization of structurally deficient bridges in Virginia with a Data analytics graduate student.

● Study performed based on risk-based assessment to find the optimized maintenance plan for bridges, by devising multi criteria optimization method with accurate data and costs, presented as poster presentation comprising research process and literature review

Reconstruction of Bridge 0-40 design project Jan 2020 - Apr 2020

The project is to design a single span of a highway bridge and evaluate dead and moving live loads. Bentley Leap Concrete software used to analyze and design a single span according to the latest AASHTO design code for shear and moment and provide the resulting design stresses after construction and after 20yrs of service.

Referenced with a research paper with different with the addition of steel fibers into the prestressed I-shaped girders to check their impact in durability, permeability, and toughness of the girders will be greatly improved.

It was observed that steel fiber addition will effectively increase the service life of the girders and ultimately the lifespan of the bridge. The enhanced beams will provide greater design controls and more effective and cost friendly designs for I-beams designed for the O-40 bridge and other structures.
