His experience covers .Net programming (11 years) comprising C# (8 years) and Visual Basic (4 years). Currently providing development, upgrading, testing and deployment of the MPS Messaging Application for the Department of the Army Intelligence Information Services (DAIIS). MPS is a .Net C# web application, using SQL Server, with additional stand alone server utility programs to process messages. Mr. Acchione works on all MPS programs, the business logic and user interface layer, and adds new features and fixes issues per the customer's requests.

For the NGA, improved the operation of a web application that calculated certain kinds of risks by the expense, probability and amount of damage they could potentially cause, Mr. Acchione made the web interface more intuitive for customers, and made the calculations in the service layer more accurate.

Developed specialized software applications to support the Department of Homeland Security.

Supported a large J2EE application that tests for security vulnerabilities across a network. Wrote functions using Hibernate to reverse engineer pojo classes from an Oracle database.

Wrote and tested an Email Editor application using C# and Visual Studio 2012; this is an automated application that utilizes the MS Exchange Server API to intercept incoming US-CERT email bulletins and it removes certain content from email bodies before sending them to their recipients.

Currenty documented a large database migration Java application for NCPS, mapping its interfaces and class relationships in Visio.

Developed Java applications for common tools: .jar executables that assist other developers. One looks up and compares application versioning information in a database, and the .jar returns this information to the developer. Another application tests the validity of JSON formatted files. This was written in Java Eclipse and JBOSS

Internet Applications Engineer

Solely wrote the DFSAuto program, which checks the health of multiple servers on a network. It runs diagnostic programs on each server automatically, saving server administrators from doing the task manually. The program sends email notifications about each server's status. It is a C# .Net application launched every 6 hours by a task scheduler, and currently serves an entire server administration team.

Contributed to construction of an Anomaly Detector application that protects the Mission Operation System network, by graphically displaying warnings to users when unexpected computers are detected.

March 2008 – November 2012

Was the Manager of the Career Development Program (CDP) for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI). It was a .Net C# application and is used by Air Force enlisted and civilian Special Agents nation wide. Is responsible for the entire application. Personally assists customers resolving technical issues including database edits, adds improvements to software design, and is highly trusted by the clients.

May-2005 – March 2008

Was the test lead for the CSC Federal Consulting Team developing an SOA application for MEPCOM. It’s a document management system using Documentum and other services to process military recruits. Tests all aspects of the developers’ fixes and new functionality.

On the previous project, added functionality and improvements to a Sharepoint portal web site. The web site is for the HSIN Critical Sector’s portals. Tasks include; devising solutions to customer’s needs for new features, Sharepoint interface editing, installing and uninstalling web parts, custom site template definitions, installation onto server computers, and banner graphics editing using Photoshop.

Developed applications using ASP.NET to migrate documents and data from an earlier Sharepoint portal web site to this new improved portal. This included writing a C# application to automate a Microsoft-community shareware migration tool, and later writing a VB.Net application to access and modify the Sharepoint SQL Server database to correct problems.

Point Solutions Project

Customer: Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA)

Developed software in Java using the Eclipse development interface and the Tomcat server for the Point Solutions Project for CIFA. The Java modules interfaced with the eWorks COTS product, a web interface, and functionality included file upload and download, authentication, working with BLOBs and querying the Oracle 10g database.

Was a member of the Information Assurance Team, identified security scanning tools, and assisted with the design of a Point Solutions certification and accreditation process.

Sensci Corporation

Sept-2004 – May-2005

Developed code to support DARPA’s diversity Automated Target Recognition (ATR) program involving specialized hardware and software languages. This on-going effort utilizes Artificial Intelligence techniques for direct military purposes to identify specific vehicle types within the battle space.

Developed a prototype web site using Java Servlets and HTML. The web site enabled the use of a newer type of search engine, the ConceptSearch engine, which can weighs relevance by analyzing word groupings. Developed code to interface the ConceptSearch module to the web page and designed the web interface.

Criminal Alien Investigations System (CAIS)

Customer: U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Acquired 4 years of Visual Basic experience in the upgrading and modification of the CAIS program’s interface, and also assisted with middle-tier development, analyzed Oracle database structure, and addressed configuration issues associated with the object-oriented design. The CAIS program has been released in many versions.

Designed a prototype web site to migrate the CAIS N-Tier database system’s functionality to the World Wide Web. It uses JAVA Servlets and JSP with server-side performance, and uses JDBC to communicate with the database. Also configured the NT server with Tomcat and Apache, and is experienced in the NT and IIS combination, developing the web pages in VB Script and ASP.

Refugee, Asylum and Parole System Forms Generation Module (RFGM)

Customer: Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)

Developed, and upgraded the RFGM program, removed obsolete, and provided the ability to handle 4-digit years and made it Y2K compliant. The RFGM environment is comprised of Visual Basic, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, and Eicon Mainframe Access and uses Windows API.

Personnel Information Exchange System (PIES)

Customer: Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA)

Designed from initial concept a print service, using C, which comprises a back end for the PIES project. Created an archiving system in C that utilized the PIES project’s Oracle database to determine whether certain veterans’ records were old and needed archiving. The print service and the archive facility were both UNIX (LINUX) applications.

Smart Weapons Program

Customer: Department of Defense (DOD)

Provided SETA support for the Smart Weapons Program in the areas of sensor imaging and automatic target recognition. Developed software using Turbo C and DOS, enabling images of military vehicles previously available only to a mainframe computer to be displayed and processed on a PC. This program performed image processing, categorization and sorting of the different images. SENSCI employees used this application for years. Gathered on-site weather and sensor data, and developed signal processing applications in C and Assembly Language (Intel).

Tested and fixed circuitry for a long battery-life landing beacon that SENSCI sold to the U.S. Air Force. Corrected a problem in certain units due to a manufacturing error, enabling all of the units operational instead of most, and saving tens of thousands of dollars.
