My construction experience includes 35 years within project management of which 20 years are international experience.

Extensive Project Management experience on U.S. Embassy Security Upgrade Projects through the full life cycle of the projects from proposal development to execution management, including design interface, to project closeout and warranty.

In addition to overall Project Management, experience includes Project Controls Management at the corporate and project level for ensuring the successful delivery of projects of various sizes, types and complexity that includes industrial, petrochemical, power, government and infrastructure projects.

A proficient user of Primavera scheduling software to develop project schedules, delay analysis, project progress monitoring, and risk analysis.

Integrated cost, schedule, estimating and document control elements using a common work breakdown structure (WBS).

Civil Quality Control experience on Nuclear Power projects.

Served for twenty-two years as a US Army Reserve Officer. Retired at the rank of Major.

Construction of MSGQ Expansion, renovation of existing MSGQ and modification of anti-climb perimeter wall in Bamako, Mali.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Managed multicultural Project Team with objective of increasing rate of project progress which was significantly increased during the first month. The site discipline managers and the Procurement team in the U.S. began participating in project schedule reviews to become more focused to identify material and equipment needs and ensure procurement and shipping supported the project requirements.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Manage and organize the resources required to successfully complete the project construction, commissioning, and closeout to ensure successful project delivery to the client. The resources included a multicultural remote Project Management team and a multicultural site management team. Project efficiency was increased by 35% in 2 months.

Zachry’s Power Division needed a scheduling group to support a cogeneration plant building program with twenty active projects and twenty-three on the backlog

Responsibilities/Tasks: Organized, trained and managed a new planning group for the Power Division responsible for the schedule development for all new cogeneration power projects and progress tracking for active projects. Tasks included schedule standards and procedures development, personnel selection, training, supervision, technical support, and coordination with clients and engineering partners.

General Motors Truck Assembly Plant Renovation–Oklahoma City

New model conversion of assembly plant in Oklahoma City from car assembly to truck assembly plant.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Assigned by General Motors Truck Division Facilities Manager to coordinate and track progress for the design and preparation for a major assembly plant renovation involving General Motor’s engineering groups (paint, body shop, trim, chassis and facilities) and the engineering firm contracted for facilities design. Duties included leading weekly coordination meetings, participating in design reviews, schedule development and tracking, and facilitating action item progress.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Responsible for supervising, planning, coordinating, and directing the activities of one hundred twenty skilled trades workers involved in facilities improvement projects and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment in Chrysler’s automotive electronics plant.

Chrysler Electronic City, Huntsville, Alabama

Construct electronics manufacturing complex consisting of 550,000 square foot manufacturing building, a 100,000 square foot administration building and 150,000 square foot engineering building.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Project Management responsibility for construction of 800,000 square foot electronics manufacturing facility. Duties included coordinating the work of the Architect/Engineers, construction contractors, Madison County Engineering, Huntsville Utilities, and the Alabama State Highway Department.

Construction of new Lexan Polycarbonate Plant for General Electric Corporation. Construction included installation of equipment modules shipped from Japan.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Performed the planning and scheduling efforts for the construction of the Phosgene area of the Lexan Plastic Process Plant for General Electric.

Blount International, Area Planner, 1982 to 1984

King Saud University Project, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Construct King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The project was the largest lump-sum project in history at the time with a contract value of two billion US dollars.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Performed the planning, scheduling and cost control efforts for the construction of five buildings with a capitol value of $500 million at the King Saud University Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Construct industrial and city infrastructure, housing, community buildings and schools for Jubail Industrial City. The twenty-year plan included projects with a total capital value of one hundred billion US dollars.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Performed scheduling studies to ensure proper timing of all projects planned for the Jubail Industrial City & Complex. These projects included over two hundred contracts with a capitol value of five billion dollars.

Construct Nuclear Power Project in St. Lucie, Florida.

Responsibilities/Tasks: Performed productivity improvement studies for the project general manager of a nuclear power project with a capitol value of one billion dollars. The studies resulted in improved management information reporting and better operating procedures for the engineering staff.
