Summary
I'm Nnamdi, living in Germany. I have been developing IoT solutions for the past 6 years. My expertise covers embedded design, data communication interfaces (SPI, UART, Modbus, I2C, Bluetooth, CANbus, MQTT etc.) cloud computing, micro-services, kubernetes and containers. I used to do consulting jobs for small to medium companies in Nigeria on IIoT deployments. I managed to become the best graduating student in my Master's class and I rewarded myself with a trip to the US. While there, I started a small personal project: I hooked a garage door to the internet, by retrofitting a controller to it. This meant that the garage could be controlled anywhere in the world. Connected sensors to cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure. Ingested sensor payload through IoT gateways (Cloud IoT Core and Azure IoT hub). Worked with a team that created backend services using Node.js. I used Docker to containerize applications, and also hosted containerized applications on Kubernetes engine. Performed load balancing across various versions of a service, as well as creating routing rules to various micro-services. I used Istio to create service mesh to perform operations such as A/B testing, rate limiting, canary rollouts etc. I used Terraform to provision infrastructure both on GCP and Azure. Monitored IoT devices and Kubernetes clusters with Stackdriver, in addition to using Prometheus to monitor endpoints of various nodes.
