Mechanical engineering graduate student seeking a full time opportunity to work in the field of automotive systems, where I can apply my knowledge and skills of advanced driver assistance systems to improve driver safety.

EDUCATION

The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus, OH Expected Graduation: Aug. 2020 M.S. Mechanical Engineering GPA:3.63

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, India May 2018 Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering GPA: 8.6/10 PROJECTS

CAV Lead for EcoCAR Mobility Challenge Oct. 2018 – Present

• Designed and led the implementation of an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) into a student engineered 2019 Chevrolet Blazer for Year 1 and Year 2 of the intercollegiate EcoCAR Mobility Challenge Competition. (https://avtcseries.org/ecocar-mobility-challenge/)

• Managed a subteam of 16 undergraduates for the CAVs team to develop radar and mobileye camera algorithms to actively improve driver safety following an agile software development approach.

• Placed 1st (of 12 schools) overall at Year 1 competition including 2nd in CAVs swimlane.

• Developed the simulation environments for Model-in-the-Loop (MIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) for a 360 perception system using ROS and dSPACE products.

• Designed a sensor fusion algorithm using an extended Kalman Filter (EKF) that incorporated fault diagnostics to model hardware failures.

• Performed the team’s data logging and post-processing effort using Vector CANoe and Canalyzer to benchmark the sensors to select the most appropriate sensor set to meet the team’s requirements.

• Utilized the Automated Driving Toolbox in MATLAB to generate 100+ testing scenarios for sensor evaluation comprising of edge-case scenarios for blindspot detection.

• Integrated a Velodyne Lidar to generate point clouds for sensor ground-truthing using VeloView.

• Developed a physics-based adaptive cruise control (ACC) algorithm that increased fuel economy.

• Experience with Design Failure Mode Analysis (DFMEA) and Fuctional Safety (ISO 26262) Development and Testing of Three Wheeler Indicator July 2017 – Dec. 2017

• Designed and developed an automatic three-wheeler turning indicator which aimed at reducing accidents around Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India.

• Modelled the turning indicator using an arduino nano micro-controller and a motion based sensor which detected the motion of the steering at a specific turning angle. Design and Fabrication of Actuated Pivot Support for Two-Wheeler Dec. 2016 – June. 2017

• Designed and developed an automatic center stand for a 500cc Royal Enfield motorcycle that improved its parking process using SolidWorks.

• Used mechanical design calculations to deduce the maximum tensile stress and load condition to aid in selecting material and sizing a piston.

• Performed hydraulic simulations of the fluid circuit using Simulink for design validation. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Intern for Force Motors Ltd - Engine Testing R&D Department Jan. 2018 – April 2018

• Conducted an experimental study on influence of different after-treatment strategies to reduce exhaust emissions for a diesel engine titled “Assessment of Aftertreatment Systems for BSVI Emission Norms”

• Evaluated the tailpipe emissions for selection of best after-treatment strategy for M2/M3 vehicle class based on the World Harmonized Transient Cycle (WHTC) and World Harmonized Stationary Cycle

(WHSC).

SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE

• Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, ROS, Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, Git, and Microsoft Office.

• Experienced using IBM Doors, Python, CARSIM, dSPACE ControlDesk, VeloView and SolidWorks.
