INTRODUCTION:

Treating active duty military personnel as a US Navy corpsman, was where I began and learned my

love of medicine. This led to my pursuing Physician Assistant training, following an honorable discharge.

My pursuing a lifelong love of learning, led me to training in education (BS), health care administration (MS) and psychology (Ph.D.).

I am seeking a position that will utilize my training in medicine, administration, education and experience, managing the needs of medical patients, who require and deserve exceptional care.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

12/2022-Present,ConcertoCare,Youngstown,OH, ConcertoCare’s only Value Based Care, Home-Visit PA-C in the Youngstown region. I manage the Anthem BC/BS risk assessment and by working alongside PCP’s, work to reduce the members hospital re-admissions. I also assist in determining the cadre of follow-up for the Youngstown area assigned patients to ConcertoCare by Anthem Medicare Advantage BC/BS. I perform in the members homes, annual and new patient HCA’s (Health Care Assessments), provide sick visits for patients whom cannot get to their PCP and evaluate patients during the transitions of care for recent hospitalizations. My role is to come alongside the existing PCP’s and specialists, of the patients assigned, continually evaluating, intervening on and modifying, the data-driven likelihood of each patients hospital re-admission.

5/2021-2/2023,Vibra LTAC for Mercy Health Bon Secours which lost the contract, Mercy Health at St. Joe’s Hospital, Warren, OH, a Hospitalist PA-C, managing the needs of inpatients, with severe life threatening medical, general medical and surgical conditions. Duties included managing both acute and chronic cardiology conditions, i.e. rhythm, anti-coagulation, circulatory, vascular, ACS/ST/NSTEMI by RRT and respiratory conditions utilizing breathing assist devices, oxygen supplementation, NIV/BiPap/CPAP, i.e. respiratory failure with/without cardiac arrest, wounds/infections requiring surgical and non-surgical antibiotic management, nutritional support, end of life issues just to list a few, in patients with acute and chronic conditions requiring inpatient acute management.

I departed this position for an improved work-life balance.

I departed this position due to inappropriate billing issues with my collaborative physician.

9/2017-4/2019,Village Heart and Vein Center, Lady Lake, FL, a Cardiology PA-C, managing outpatients in a busy M-F office practice, as well as inpatients on the ICU/CCU/Stepdown/Telemetry and Med/Surgical units at 2 General Hospitals,1 Select Specialty Hospital, 4 SNF’s, working alongside Cardiology Subspecialties; EP/Interventional/Diagnostic. I responded to and managed the myriad of IP cardiac emergencies, staffed consultations in the ED, Pre and Post/Op, provided stand-by for IP CV stress testing and performed ongoing daily rounding. I evaluated both EP and Interventional patients’ pre/post procedure for complications and discharged them. All these duties were performed per established protocols.

I departed this position due the practice no longer using a PA-C outpatient model.

10/2016-7/2017,Sinai Grace Hospital/Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, MI, a Neurosurgical PA-C, managing the needs of inpatients with Neurological and Neurosurgical conditions in the Neuro ICU specifically for brain and spine injuries, responding to neurologic emergencies, staffing consultations and ongoing daily rounding.

I departed this position, due to being laid off by Tenant/DMC, due to a workforce reduction of 50-75%.
