Child and Adolescent Therapist
Southwest Alabama Behavioral Health Care Systems - Monroeville, AL June 2022 to Present
I counsel children ages 5-18 at school on Monday through Thursday. I am in office on Fridays for Intakes, Treatment Plans, and updating clients charts'. We do on call crisis line once a month either 3 days during the week or the the weekend from Friday until Tuesday morning. May caseload is currently 103 clients. I am the only Child and Adolescent Therapist in Monroe County. I enjoy communicating with school administrators, teachers, social workers, parents, and probation officer to keep them informed on progress of client, implementing what may help work outside of therapy, and to keep in my positive regard for client (creating positive environment and ways to encourage client to work toward goals). Ronald McDonald House - Columbia, SC
February 2019 to June 2019
I worked the front desk, checking in referrals from the Palmetto Richland Hospital, help them fill out paperwork, give them a tour of the house, get their room ready, prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner when needed. We fixed soup and sandwiches to take over to the Ronald McDonald room in the hospital for lunch for the families who could not leave the hospital to have lunch at the house. I met some great families and learned a lot about their miracle children and watched how strong parents are going through their crisis. This experience has made me take into consideration how blessed we are and how appreciative of life we should be.
