I have over 20 years of diverse experience in humanitarian and development settings in Pakistan and Iraq with a focus on livelihoods, food security and disaster risk reduction. I have strong communication skills, team-building abilities, and analytical skills and I have the diplomacy skills required to have a professional liaison with variety of partners and organizations. Moreover, I have extensive experience in working and achieving success in government.

Further, I worked as a short-term expert with UNAMI (United Nations Assistance Mission Iraq) and highlighted issues deemed necessary by the mission management to local authorities. Moreover, as a Senior Program Specialist/ Director, at the Infrastructure Management Unit (IMU), Planning Commission, Islamabad, I implemented 26 projects with 15 Federal line Ministries while implementing an Asian Development Bank projects. Previously I have worked as Deputy Chief (Planning & Development), at the Federal Ministry of Science & Technology, and as Manager, at the National Fertilizers Marketing Ltd (NFML) at the Federal Ministry of Industries.

At the World Food Programme, WFP, my focus was on cash-based transfers by introducing electronic banking system (ATM Card) under disaster risk reduction (DRR) and school safety projects in Sindh drought effected areas as a Provincial Focal Person Livelihood at the Karachi Office. I have also served as Deputy General Manager Tameer-e-Khalq Foundation (TKF) and well maintained relations with donors and concerned public and private stakeholders. Formerly worked as the National Focal Person (Livelihood) with UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) Islamabad and I drafted, “Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Livelihood Strategy for Afghan Refugees” for UNHCR Pakistan Operations and designed livelihood projects in three provinces.
