4/1986 – 10/1996 Pueblo Board of Water Works, Pueblo, CO

Customer Service Representative – Promoted to accounting department as Accounts Receivables.

As a customer service representative for the Board of Water Works, I was responsible for dispatching water management personnel to discontinue service for non-payment and or closing of service. Processed and maintained accurate payments and account analysis. Continuous customer contact, both in person and by phone.

As an accounts receivable technician I monitored, balanced and reviewed all customer service representatives’ receipts and cash drawers, making sure all were processed by end of business and preparing for deposit. Liaison with both state and private auditors. Billed and monitored numerous municipalities who purchased water from the Water Board / Arkansas River Basin.

Drafted and prepared various correspondence for the middle school principal, to include District Administration, Parents, State Education Board and local board of education. As a Courtroom Judicial Assistant to District Court where we handled all case types, from medical malpractice to felony criminal. I worked directly with the District Court Judges assisting with in-court procedures, including simultaneous and real-time entry of data for immediate process sharing to State of Colorado Judicial data as well as law enforcement, scheduling for District Court Judge as well as attorney’s attending during docket, docket control, while concurrently maintaining the flow of personnel/attorneys/interested parties/law enforcement and detainees. Accurately processing to the State of Colorado Judicial site, all jail and prison sentences. Extensive communication with outside agencies to include county and city law enforcement, court, and law enforcement agencies outside of the State of Colorado, attorneys, constant daily multi-tasking, and problem solving with high accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Our firm started out handling family law cases and criminal law cases.

It became apparent that we needed to focus solely on criminal law and have done for the last 5 months. My duties as the legal assistant/paralegal for the Canon City office include but are not limited to processing all prospective client intakes, setting up and creating new case files for all clients, preparing and filing court documents for the attorneys. Tracking all client cases in the court system for court rulings, upcoming dates, changes in court appearances, etc... Attending court proceedings to aid attorneys and process live/real-time notes using OneNote Notebook for the attorneys and clients.
