I work in a milieu of clients with varying diagnoses from ages 18-80. I provide a listening ear, focused on the client’s daily living, wellness, health, and safety. Working in a team environment we are responsible for empowering and encouraging clients to embrace recovery by facilitating groups with subject matter such as: Conflict Resolution, Coping Skills, Building Support Networks, and the importance of Personal Hygiene. I am skilled in daily documentation that informs the clinical and team members of activities on the shift including progress notes. Working in a team environment I support each client’s individual service plan.

Family Advocate

I provided individual support to families receiving services from Placer County’s Behavioral Health System including Adult Mental Health, Child Welfare System, Juvenile Dependency Court, Special Education, and Juvenile Probation Services. I assisted clients in building and maintaining personal support networks, and family reunification and created linkages and collaborations between professionals and community service providers. Composing daily, weekly, and monthly data and tracking reports. This includes working cooperatively with a wide range of organizations, groups, professionals, and individuals from different educational, economic, cultural, and racial backgrounds. My duties also included driving clients to appointments.

I am an experienced trainer in educating clients and family members about public policy, as well as skill building curriculum including soft skills such as Time Management, Conflict Resolution, Creative Problem Solving, and Anger Management among others. I managed state, local, county, and federal contracts including quarterly and annual reports, data collection, and evaluation. I monitored and analyzed state mental health and disability legislation, garnering support or opposition for proposed legislation through statewide advocacy groups and reporting their preferences to legislators. I elicited consumer engagement in statewide, and local committees and with collaborative partners to provide client and Family Voice and Choice at all levels of decision-making.
