Founder and Owner, Chair Care Patio 1988-2023
Chair Care Patio is a Dallas based business that began as a hobby in 1988. The initial focus was the restoration and repair of better quality outdoor fur- niture. Over time, the business became a multi million dollar manufacturing facility for outdoor cushions, replacement slings and other contract sewing projects. With over 30 employees, the company served both retail and trade customers for outdoor replacement cushions as well as customers nation- wide through websites.
As the sole owner, I oversaw all aspects of the business daily operations in- cluding accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll, mar- keting, sales and business development.
My expertise includes the manufacturing sewn soft goods such as outdoor cushions, outdoor pilows, seat pads, outdoor drapes and other industrial textiles. I can take any soft textile project from prototype to fi nished stage, including product concept, pattern development, prototype creation, ma- terial sourcing, and pricing.
I also have established relationships with most of the major fabric vendors in the home interior and exterior textile markets nationwide. In additon, I have vast knowledge base of material sources for manufacturing including fabric, foam, fi ber, nortions and equipment.
On the sales side, I worked directly with retail, wholesale and commercial customers for custom cushion and contract sewing projects. Providing them detailed quotations for projects both small and large. Day to day activities included direct interaction with both retail clients and the trade clients for outdoor fabric selection and design inspiration detail including fabric coordination design details. I also provided On site design consultations with customers to view outdoor space, take necessary mea- surements, review fabric selection and develop an overall design plan. My core experience in the luxury outdoor furniture market and luxury textile market as the business was very focued on outdoor. But through years of working with the design trade and attending gift and furniture markets, I am very familiar with the luxury interior furniture and textile market. The company experienced signifi cant growth with the addition of several ecommerce websites for both retail and wholesale. I was personally involved in every aspect of front end website design along with an experienced web developer to take care of the back end programming. With so much experience over the years of being a business, owner, it’s hard to put it all down on paper.
