SR. DATA ANALYST/POWER BI LEAD GM FINANCIAL-DALLAS, TX JUN 2015 – DEC 2022

• Part of IT leadership team, responsible for the delivery of standardized reporting and analytical solutions to both GM Financial internal customers and external clients. Below are few of the major projects that have been implemented and my responsibilities as part of my role:

Dealer Audit Central : We launched this project late summer 2021 and is a new state of the art analytics platform built on Power BI that supports the growth of our clients. This solution is based on terabytes of syndicated data from IRI. Initially implemented based on an import model on a P5 premium capacity but later converted to a hybrid model on a P3 by using a direct query connection to Snowflake to reduce the overall cost of the ownership by fourth. Designed the Snowflake warehouse by physically partitioning the data by clients to bring down the query load and to use a lower Snowflake compute to reduce the cost on backend database. Used one of the new features of Power BI called “Dynamic M Query Parameters” to associate the above physically partitioned backend database tables based on dashboard user selections.

FIPR Reporting: Operational reporting solution for supervisors & above (~ 800+ users) and clients (~ 250+) for providing the concurrence that have executed. Solution uses the POS data from purchase data, OneHub planning data from Salesforce and execution data from Oracle. The clients will get to see the flash and the final lift of the products based on our event services, first time purchasers, repeat purchasers, etc.

GMR Dealer Provenir Reporting: Customized operational reporting provided to Dealer and RCM managers and executive team based on their hierarchies about GM Sales and Merchandising activities. This is hosted in Power BI and Cognos reporting platform using Snowflake data warehouse.

Axis Reporting: Customized reporting for execution data. Birst reporting platform is used to host the visualizations and Azure data warehouse is used as the backend in addition to different integration platforms. This solution is integrated into GM internal portal “Radar”. Right now, 10,000+ users have access to this reporting.

Data Integrations with third parties and Clients: Our team is responsible for daily execution / image / alert data transfers to clients and third-party companies. We use customized .NET applications, SSIS packages, Logic Apps to transfer data to SFTP sites, APIs, Azure Blob Storage Containers, Box folders & SharePoint sites.

Following are other support activities that I was responsible for:

•Maintenance and support of Power BI service, Tableau server, Alteryx server, SSRS, Snowflake, Sharepoint etc.

•Support for FIPR and CSS Insights Team of 70+ analysts who does customized reporting for Clients. These analysts don’t have direct access to data warehouse (in Snowflake and Azure Synapse) and we have built different modules to pull data from warehouse for planning and execution data.
