SUMMARY

I am an experienced Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity professional with proven success and expertise in developing plans and procedures to enable business continuance in the event of a disaster. I have particularly good written and verbal communication, leadership, problem solving and organization skills as well as working well under pressure.

I am an active member of the Continuity Planning Association of the Carolinas professional group and have given a presentation during a quarterly meeting. This position presents the opportunity to increase my continuity experience into a business area other than banking and retail. The investment management industry is highly competitive and regulated which allows me to put business continuity plans into place to have the client’s confidence that in the event of a business interruption Vanguard could respond and continue to support their investment needs.

Disaster Recovery Coordinator (2007-2011)

The primary function was to ensure the plans and procedures were in place to recover the business in the event of a disaster, coordinate the periodic testing of the plans and procedures, document any issues uncovered during these tests, track the resolution of the issues through to completion and work with the business to prioritize recovery efforts. I was a member of the incident response team which included being on call 24/7 for problems that may arise. There were multiple incidents in these 4 years that required coordination of recovery efforts.

Responsibilities included:

• Create and maintain IT procedures

• Coordinate the establishment of necessary hardware including servers, storage and network connections to support the business.

• Be the project manager for quarterly business continuity/disaster recovery tests. These tests typically included coordinating 30 to 50 participants and 3 to 5 different sites and 2 to 3 vendors.

• Assist the business to establish the level of resiliency required.
