AFCON Investments Ltd therefore, has been directed by Gulsan Construction Industry, Tourism, Transport and Trade Company Inc. to offer you a contract of Employment as a pickup driver under contract number ALP/DRJ2022-058 effective 22/08/2022 up to 22/08/2023.Your major responsibility will be to drive light vehicles. Take note that Management may transfer you from time to time to any site within the Project Site due to the nature of site conditions.

A. Remuneration

Your Net Monthly Wage shall be Ugx: 550,000 (Five Hundred Fifty Thousand Shillings ONLY) after a statutory deduction of 10% have been made and 5 % contribution of NSSF by Gulsan to be remitted to your account(s) exclusive of Local Service Tax and Pay as you Earn. Management shall make arrangements to pay your monthly wage, overtime and any allowances to your personal bank account depending on your daily attendance to work and accomplished tasks. You will be required to sign a daily time sheet as aligned to your daily tasks in order to guide Human Resource Department in processing your monthly wage. The Contractor (Gulsan) will transport workers from Gazetted collection points to the work sites on an agreed time schedule. B. Meals, working time and overtime

As provided for in the Employment Act 2006, Official working time is 8 Hours, that is between 8:00am & 5:00pm, inclusive of a lunch break of 1hour and as such works beyond 8 hours it will be regarded as overtime. Sundays and public holidays will also be taken as overtime.

For avoidance of doubt, the employee shall be at his or her duty station or site by 8:00am or earlier as circumstances may demand. You will be provided with Breakfast, Lunch & Safe drinking water on site daily. In respect of any time worked in excess of the normal hours of work per day specified under this clause, the employee shall be paid over time at one and half times (1.50) of his or her normal rate of wages per hour. In respect of any time worked on Sunday or Public holiday, an Employee shall be paid over time at double (2.00) of his normal rate of wages per day.

C. End of Contract period.

Owing to the ad hoc nature of this project and site conditions, you may be temporarily laid off by the employer on notice one month before end of contract period.
