Cultivation steps in a controlled environment were use in a bioreactor as the cell cultures were grown to a volume of several thousand liter to produce kilograms of the desired API.

2008 – 2013 Down-stream Processing involved taking the API molecule isolating and purifying it from the complex mixture of host cell proteins, cells, or cell debris with nutrient and waste material now removed.
