MECHANICAL ENGINEER (TURNAROUND + RELIABILITY & MAINTENANCE, PROJECT)

Reliability & maintenance of rotating equipment- monitoring vibration and integrity. Implementation of Bad Actor program. Engineering Turnaround work for TA April 2013.

Led, planned & executed Turnaround / Shutdown work successfully for Upgrading U2 & U1 at Suncor base plant.

Performed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & HAZOP study. Cost Estimating & Budgeting. Benefit-Risk assessment.

PROJECT ENGINEER

Shell Chemicals Seraya, Singapore 2004 to 2006

Completion of 113 projects successfully for MPG (Monopropylene Glycol), Polyols, and SMPO (Styrene Monomer & Propylene Oxide) plant to increase its safety and mechanical integrity (Project: USD$4 million. Turnaround: USD $20million) (Turnaround April 2006). Conducted Scoping, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Actions and Proposal. Execution.

Led a team of professionals to restore successfully the integrity and reliability of the cooling water system on GRE (Glassfibre Reinforced Epoxy) piping (Cost: USD$1million). Conducted Root Cause Analysis (RCA), identified defective pipes, & proposed options of repair and execution.

Increased the efficiency and restored integrity for Cogen boiler and steam boiler through shutdown maintenance work and system modification.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Shell Chemicals Seraya, Singapore 2003 to 2004

Led a team of maintenance and unit engineers in rectification, trouble shooting, repair and preventive maintenance of pump, Cogen-gas turbine, boiler, chiller, incinerator, process vessel/tank, tower, biotreator, water treatment & utilities system, etc. (TA/Shutdown job 2004)

Performed Root Cause Analysis (RCA); identify failure, gap analysis, risk evaluation, development of solutions and mitigation of the mechanical equipment failure to achieve higher plant profitability.

Involved in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to establish safe minimum levels of maintenance, capital maintenance regimes and plans, increased cost effectiveness, machine uptime, and a greater risk management. Implementation of Bad Actor program.

IFFCO Oil Processing Pte Ltd, Malaysia 2002 to 2003

Revamped oil processing plant successfully by saving USD$300,000 per year or USD$25,000 per month on boiler fuel consumption.

Rectification of the mechanical issue on frequent pumps failure. Trouble-shooting of Process equipment upset. Shutdown maintenance (SD 2002) work on Fractionation Tower, Splitter, Degasser, Distillation Still, tanks, etc. Modification of Steam utility system for efficiency and cost saving.

Increased productivity for an oil processing plant. Set up an efficient computer reporting system to enhance organization's communication.

COMMISSIONING ENGINEER

Foster Wheeler Eastern (Schering Plough Pharmaceutical Plant) Singapore 2002–2002

Led commissioning team successfully in planning and execution of 38 system on OSBL (Offsite Battery Limit) and ISBL (Insite Battery Limit) for MPP (Multi-Product Bulk Manufacturing Plant), producing loratadine (active ingredient of Claritin), and mometasone furoate (anti-inflammatory)

Achieved world records of polyethylene production per week (Ave 65 ton/hour in 2000) for ExxonMobil Singapore PE plant
