The International Election Monitoring program was conducted in coordination with the Carter Center; two pre-election assessment missions were brought in and for the Election Day, a forty-member delegation observed the elections.

Key Skills Developed: How elections are observed internationally, organization of delegations, press conferences, translation of press releases as well as election systems and laws. Establishment of networks, training groups for election-monitoring domestically.

Contributed to the financial and technical assistance given to more than 30 Palestinian NGOs which convened to form the Palestinian Domestic Monitoring Committee (PDMC).

Women's Democracy and Human Rights Education and Training Program, NDI, 1994 to 1995

Field Officer

Field Officer for the Southern Areas which included Hebron, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Ramallah. About 150 women from the West Bank and Gaza were being trained to raise their awareness of the democratic process and for a more active participation in the political life. The program was conducted in partnership with the Jerusalem Center for Women.

Key Skills Developed: Training of women groups on democracy issues, organization of workshops and field activities such as conferences with officials.
