Carilion Clinic 5/2022-Present

Scheduling Coordinator

I assist in four roles for the scheduling coordinator position. Role one is reviewing the material in the patients medical chart is all accounted for, and correct. This role is the last check the patients chart is without any errors before going to the hospital. Role two is greeting the patients and checking them in. I take the patients vitals before the presurgical appointment with the nurse. I also have to account for the patients that are late, and did not show. I send notification to the surgeons office for the patients that did not show the appointment. Role three is answering the phone, and assisting patients with there questions, and scheduling appointments according to the medical service they require. Role four is color coding medical charts according to locations and procedure, printing patients labels, checking for medical emails regarding the patients procedure, printing inserting in the chart. I also print all medical inserts registration requires admitting patients into the hospital.

I was a personal assistant to a friend. His wife had passes away from breast cancer. He has twins a boy and a girl. The boy has Downs syndrome. I assisted with child care, and running the household. He has moved out of state, so he didn’t need the help.

I received incoming calls from members with general account inquires. I performed monetary adjustments, consolidated accounts which increased credit lines for the client. Most of the time they didn’t know they had multiple credit card accounts acquired, and did not want them. I offered the consolidating, and increased the credit line, and they were amazed and beyond happy. I could also while on the phone with the client review information and offer bank options and services I could see they would benefit from that they themselves would not think were available. I also customized selling bank products, services, and balance transfers. Each month I met and exceeded my monthly goals. Upper management selected me to assist in other departments that needed assistance, while still meeting my incentive requirements each month. I gained strong effective listening skills, inter personal skills, and problem solving skills also. I also assisted with Meals on Wheels, and assisted Families in Need at Christmas time. Upper management offered a full time promotion to Billing Dispute Analyst which I excepted.
