This involved the use of spreadsheets, ie excel, lotus, and quatropro.

Initial survey inspection of Western Mining Nickel Refinery to establish the amount of rectification work required to enable the engineers to compile tender documents for a rectification shutdown in November. Corrosion analysis on structural steel, pipework and machinery. Further duties were to conduct an integrity study for the safe working of the plant. Compilation of documents for the presentation to W.M.C. management to assess the feasibility and viability of the plant.

DUTIES:

Initial survey of the North Rankin “A” drilling module to establish the amount of rectification work required to bring the drilling section out of preservation and back on line. Creation of jobcards and man-hour estimates for this project using Excel spreadsheet. Offshore inspections, evaluation of the platform piping systems and valves in regard to corrosion. Co-ordination of N.D.T. contractors to assist in the corrosion evaluation.
